LAST CHANCE!!! I HAVE TO HAVE EVERYTHING TURNED IN TOMORROW....PLEASE SIGN, SHARE, WRITE A SUPPORT STATEMENT!!!

You've been asking and we've been listening. The opportunity has finally come where a grant covering a majority of the cost of this project is available but we need your help!
***Please sign and share the petition below showing your support of this project, you don't have to be a New Berlin resident to sign.

***Also if you would like to write a short support letter that would be greatly appreciated. You can copy and paste the statement below or write your own.

To the Safe Schools Grant Committee,

I'm am writing to you to show my support for the Village of New Berlin grant application. This is a major need I have heard mentioned time and time again from New Berlin Village residents, however due to funding it is not a project the Village can afford to finance 100% on their own. This grant would provide the Village with the financial help they need to make a safe route for students to travel to and from school safely both walking and riding their bikes with getting exercise and enjoying the outdoors. (You could insert your own personal story of how your child or maybe you have witnessed a child walking to school in the road and the unsafe conditions)

Thank you for offering this program to communities so we can offer safe routes for our most precious commodities, our children.

Sincerely,
(Your Name)

New Berlin Resident/concerned parent/Community Supporter, if you hold an office you could put that or whatever you feel is appropriate.

You can email them to me [email protected] by the end of the week or drop them off at the Village Hall.

***Some citizens have reached out with questions (which I greatly appreciate that we are able to give ideas and suggestions, it truely takes a village of ideas to make it successful) as to how this will affect busing into Windrow subdivision and to be honest that was one of my concerns and why I haven't ever looked much into the grant before. After speaking to the Superintendent she has reassured me the advantages will greatly outweigh any negatives and that this will not automatically take bussing away from that subdivision. However if you have concerns I would encourage you to reach out and ask your specific questions to the district and they can answer them more specifically.***

Thank you for all of your help and support to try and make this project a reality for our community.

As the weather warms up please remember to respect our parks and the resources in them, such as the port-a-potties and micro-food pantry. Many volunteer hours have gone into building and stocking the micro-pantry and your tax dollars go to cover the cost if the port-a-potties, please don't vandalize them.

If you have younger kids playing at the parks please talk to them about the proper way to respect the area as we have already had reports of some issues over the weekend.

New Berlin Residents, Village cleanup day is THIS Saturday at Wabash Park from 8-11am. See you there!
Looking for someone to mow our yard, any recommendations? In the Windrow area!
Please look out for a missing dog. She escaped last night. She is a brown and black brindle mountain cur. She has a red collar with my name and phone number on it. Kind of timid. Please contact me at 217-488-2931.
I saw that a new Mexican restaurant is where The Still (on the four way by the railroad tracks) use to be. Anyone know when it will be open?
FYI, BE AWARE: Someone broke into my husband's semi truck trailer last night and put a bunch of yard sale trash and placed a noose (very disrespectful and disturbing). Please be aware, I know a lot of people park their semi tractors and trailers here.
Flu shots today right
Happy Birthday to my son Wyatt Boehler who turns 14 today. I love you and your sister very much and miss you soooo much. I’ll never EVER stop loving you!!! One day, I’ll see you again. I know it in my heart.
Any word on the village clean up day???
Are we still planning on having a cleanup day anytime soon?
Has anyone found a green and tan tackle box, 2 fishing poles and a chair in New Berlin. They fell out of the vehicle late Friday early Saturday morning. Don't care about poles and chair just want the tackle box back. Please and thank you.
If you have a golf cart or off-road vehicle that needs to be registered or renewed from last year with the Village please be sure to reach out to Mary at the Village Hall and she can email or mail you an application. The fee is $25 for the year. New Berlin Police Department will issue you a license plate and yearly sticker. This needs to be completed by the end of the month.
So what is being done on the west side of Waverly Rd.? Housing or commercial?
