NB-IG Fire & EMS had a very interesting and informative month filled with education and hands-on training! 🚒🚑

First, we had the opportunity to learn from a representative from Norfolk Southern Railroad, who educated us on potential situations, hazards, and accidents we may encounter when the railroad is involved in an emergency.

We had a great turnout, with multiple area agencies joining us for this valuable training. A special thank-you to the Knights of Columbus for allowing us to use the facility. We had originally planned to hold the training at the fire department, but with the extreme heat that day, the KC Hall was definitely a much more comfortable option for everyone! 🥵

Next up… vehicle extraction training! 🚗💥

A huge thank-you to Sheppard Auto Recycling, Inc. for hosting and allowing us to put our new extraction equipment to the test. Our mutual-aid partners also joined us for this hands-on and extremely valuable training.

We are incredibly thankful to Norfolk Southern Railroad and Sheppard Auto Recycling, Inc. for helping us become better prepared for whatever situations we may encounter.

Training like this is so important. It helps ensure that our firefighters and EMS personnel stay safe while responding to emergencies—and, just as important, helps us provide the safest and best care possible to those we are called to help.

Great things have recently occurred with the Emergency Medical Squad.

We are very excited and happy to share that the EMS has made several major equipment purchases, including a Lucas device, vital monitor, and stair chair, that will improve the quality and efficiency of services provided to the community.

These purchases were made possible through TIF funds provided to the EMS by the village of New Berlin.

The generosity and commitment from the village of New Berlin and everyone in the community are helping the EMS to obtain some much-needed upgrades in its diagnostic, medical and transport equipment to better serve the community.

The EMS is very grateful for the opportunity to put these new resources into service and look forward to providing many more years of high-quality medical care the members of our community deserve.

🚒 GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT! 🚒

We are excited to share that the Fire Department is making some major upgrades and improvements — made possible because of the incredible support of our community.

A huge thank you goes out to our taxpayers, everyone who has supported the Queen of Hearts drawing, and all of the community members who continue to support our fire department. Your generosity and commitment are helping provide better equipment, improved facilities, and enhanced resources to keep our community safe.

These improvements are a true example of what can happen when a community comes together. We are grateful for each and every person who has played a part in making this possible. ❤️
