Thank you Staff Sgt. Joshua Caleb Gore for your service, and your sacrifice to our country. Rest in peace, sir.
This past Saturday, we held our second annual Golf Tournament fundraiser. The tournament was a great success, we were able to have 64 golfers making up 16 teams.
A big thanks goes out to all that came out and supported us. This fundraiser is a way that we can gain some additional money to be able to purchase better equipment and gear so that we can better serve our community.
All of us at the station would like to thank all of the sponsors that we had. Without those sponsors, we would not have been able to make this tournament a success like it was.
We would like to thank the Emerald Golf & Country Club for allowing us to have the tournament at their location.

Please be safe and responsible this 4th of July. Fireworks can easily injure and even kill. Not only that, but conditions are still favorable for wildfires, so please use a bit of intelligence when celebrating.

The weight of a pager. A Motorola Minitor V weighs 5 ounces until it goes off. When it goes off it bears the weight of the world. It weighs as much as a dying child as a frantic mother drops them into your arms. It weighs as much as a Lifepak, jump bag and oxygen tank as you race up flights of stairs to your patient. It weighs as much as hauling that patient back down those stairs. It weighs as much as Hurst rescue spreaders while removing a car door. It weighs as much as removing a lifeless body from that car. It weighs as much as turnout gear, a Scott Air Pack, and a charged inch and a half hose, as you rush into a burning house. It weighs as much as carrying your friend in a coffin who lost their life while carrying a pager. Sometimes the weight of that pager is too heavy on your heart and your mind, but you carry it anyways. You carry that weight because you care and are compassionate. It gives you pride and honor. It gives you a sense of purpose in this life. For those that bear the weight of a pager with honor, thank you. I consider you my brothers, my sisters. For those that want to help your community, we always have extra pagers and could use help bearing that weight.

Looking to see if there would be interest in the black sheep tee shirts or other items. Tee shirts would be 25$ with a few choices in shirt colors. Proceeds outside of cost will be put towards gear and equipment for the fire station. We may look into challenge coins in the future if there's enough interest in them. This mascot is meant to showcase the family vibe we have at No.9 and the fact that we march to the beat of a different drum. In such troubled times, a bit of humor and station pride go a long way to boost morale in the dept and in the community. Comment below so we can see what the interest is in these items.

Today has been a very long and good day for many of our members. We had our first ever golf tournament, and it was a great SUCCESS!!!!!!!
Of course we could not have done any of this without a lot of support from members of our community and even from our neighboring communities. Firstly, we would like the thank The Emerald Golf Club for their support and for working with us to have this event. Without the staff and Golf Club’s support, we would not have been able to put on this fundraiser for our department. We would also like to thank all of our many other sponsors for their support and donations (see pictures for the list of sponsors). Their support was also what made this event a success. Our sponsors were able to provide door prizes, goodie bags, and hole sponsors. All of our sponsors showed how they truly want to support their community and they did it in a great way today. We would also like to thank everyone that came out and participated in the golf tournament. We hope that everyone had a great day and enjoyed the tournament.
None of this would be able to have happened if it wasn’t for our dedicated members of No. 9 Township Fire & Rescue!!!!! We are truly blessed with a great group of people that are dedicated to this community. We are so grateful for our community and the support that we get. We always want to make sure that we have the best available gear, tools, trucks, and equipment so that we can be here to serve out community.
