So we've gone ahead and curated a book display full of chilly, frozen, and snowy titles for you to peruse - plus a fake fireplace to ward off the cold. :) And remember, it's always best to be prepared with a book to read just in case you're snowed in. ☃

Don't panic if, over Winter Break, you realize that your Craven CC library items are due back before you return to campus.

They're not.

Items with an original due date between 1/2 and 1/12 have had their checkouts extended until 1/13. You are always welcome to return them earlier - you can use the drop box outside of Barker Hall or come up to the library (we'll be open again beginning 1/2) - but you don't have to worry about it!

It's almost officially winter break! (The Craven CC library is closing at 6 tonight, so we've got a couple of hours yet.)

We wanted to remind y'all of just a few things before we go:
1.) The Craven CC library will be closed starting tomorrow (12/20) through January 1. We'll reopen on January 2.
2.) Our digital resources are all available even when the library is closed! Check them out!
3.) If it's cold out, wear a coat.

Well, Craven students, that's a wrap on the Fall 2024 semester! (Faculty and staff still have a few more days left.) We wanted to let everyone know that the Craven CC library will be open despite classes being over this week. We will operate on our normal hours through Thursday, December 19, and then be closed until January 2.

We hope that you all enjoy a relaxing break!

It's the last full week of the 2024 Fall Semester! (EEK!) This means that is on the horizon - but so are , end-of-semester projects, and other stress-inducing activities. If you need a place on campus to study or relax, may we recommend the ? We've got comfy chairs, great reading materials, and even some coloring sheets to help you de-stress.

Y'ALL.

Back in the summer, when the Craven CC library staff first floated the idea of bringing therapy dogs to campus, we could not have imagined such a wonderful response. 🐾🐾

We had five amazing therapy dogs (Daisy, Domino, Monty, Sandy Mae, and Baxter) come to spread love and happiness - I mean, just look at the smiles on everyone's faces! Thank you to Love On A Leash- Coastal Carolina Pet Provided Therapy for sharing them!

We also offered a Crafternoon session, along with coloring pages (which are always available in the library - just ask!), which was also fantastic - but the dogs were absolutely the stars of the show.

Coming back onto campus after Thanksgiving break is the *worst.* So the Craven CC library and Craven Community College - Campus Life are working to make sure it's a fantastic day!

Join us tomorrow (December 2) from 10:00 until 2:00 in Ward Hall for therapy dogs and a crafting session and treats! Wear a festive shirt to get into the holiday spirit! Help us make it an awesome day to be back at school!

Thanksgiving is a day to remember what we're thankful for, and the Craven CC library is thankful for all of our students - y'all are the reason we're always challenging ourselves to try new and innovative things!

Happy Thanksgiving break, everyone! The Craven CC library (like the rest of campus) will reopen on Monday, December 2 at 8:00 am. We hope you all enjoy some much-deserved rest!

And please remember: even though the physical library is closed, our digital collection (via Dogwood Digital on the Libby App .app) is available 24/7. Find your next favorite book!

We've made it to week! The Craven CC library will have normal hours today and tomorrow (the 25th and 26th), and then will close early (along with the rest of the campus) on Wednesday the 27th. Enjoy your and take some time to relax and recharge - we'll be back to normal hours on Monday, December 2.

Did you know you can change the playback speed of audiobooks on the Libby App (.app)? Cramming three hours into 23 minutes *might* end up being a little bit unintelligible, but we believe in you! (Thanks to .app Libby App for sharing this charming meme!)

Also, happy release day to those who celebrate! You can go ahead and read the novel before seeing the movie - it's available on our shelves and via Libby in our digital collection!

Exciting news for those of you who grew up reading the Goosebumps series by R.L. Stine - the Craven CC library now has some of these books in our collection!

And if you *didn't* read them as a child, here's your chance!

It's everyone's favorite day: High Five a Librarian Day!!!

(Yes, this is real. No, it's not something we made up.)

To celebrate, the Craven CC library staff has crafted a scavenger hunt all about one of our favorite digital resources, the Libby App .app! Find the Libby images hidden throughout the library, solve the puzzle, and you *might* even earn yourself a high five from one of your librarians!

And if you can't make it today, don't worry: we're keeping the scavenger hunt going until Thanksgiving break. :)
