The New Bern-Craven County Public Library will open its doors at the temporary library location, 408 Hancock Street beginning Monday, December 4, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.

The Library will be closed on Friday, December 1st and Saturday, December 2nd for the relocation.

Library's operational hours beginning December 4th:
Monday through Thursday ~ 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday ~ 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

We look forward to seeing and serving all our patrons!

All Craven-Pamlico Regional Library locations will close at 6 pm on Wednesday, November 22nd. Each location will remain closed on Thursday, November 23rd, and Friday November 24th.
Please be aware that our New Bern-Craven County Public Library location will also be closed on Saturday, November 25th.

Our Havelock Public Library, New Bern-Craven County Public Library, and Pamlico County Public Library locations are honored to serve all of those who have served us by opening according to regular business hours on Saturday, November 11th.

Celebrate the anniversary of the Stanly-Spaight duel at our Library!
We're asking patrons to take a picture of themselves with Flat Stanly at the duel historical marker across the street from our front entrance OR at the John Wright Stanly House (the former public library) on George Street. You can show us the photo in person, post the picture in the comments below, email, or fax us.
The children's prize will be a Flat Stanley book (of course) and the young adult & adult prizes will be a book about John Wright Stanly (John Stanly's father) or a History of New Bern book.
The drawing will be held after the anniversary of the September 5th duel on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
