Thank you to everyone who attended the BES Pizza/Bingo Night! The gym and cafeteria was packed with lots of families and community supporters. BES is so blessed with community partners who help fill the needs of our students! About 30 of our students were recipients of this amazing program! 👟

Coastal Sole and the New Bern Breakfast Rotary have partnered again for the “Kicks for Kids” project. This provides over 300 tennis shoes to students in elementary & middle schools in Craven County Schools.

**AVID is an amazing program for your student to enter starting in 6th grade. This is a pathway that will support organization, study skills, future student goals, furthering education, character building, etc. WCMS AVID students met with our 5th graders last week to provide insight into this program.

Make a point to attend this meeting and get more information to see is this is a "right fit" for supporting your student as he/she begins middle school.

Our classroom is buzzing with excitement as we dive into our life cycle units! Yesterday, we planted radish seeds and placed eggs in the incubator—learning firsthand about growth, change, and new beginnings. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be observing and caring for our little sprouts and future chicks, making predictions, and documenting their progress. 🎉 Congratulations, Aiden! 🇺🇸

On Friday, December 6th, Aiden proudly received his nomination to the prestigious United States Merchant Marine Academy from North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis! 🏅✨
This incredible achievement reflects Aiden’s dedication, perseverance, and excellence, as he stood out among 400 applicants competing for this honor. To qualify, candidates had to meet rigorous academic, leadership, and service standards, submit a comprehensive application, and successfully interview before the Service Academy Board.

Out of the 400 applicants:
🔹 105 individuals were selected for interviews
🔹 48 outstanding nominees were honored by Senator Tillis

Aiden’s journey didn’t stop there! He also earned a Service Nomination to the United States Naval Academy from Congressman Greg Murphy. 🚢⚓

West Craven High is so proud to have Aiden represent their school, the district, and the state with honor and commitment. 💙❤️ CCS congratulates him on this remarkable accomplishment! 👏🎖️
