📚🇺🇸 Mayor Barrows Inspires Future Leaders 🇺🇸📚

Thanks to Dr. Joe Harmon of Redbank Valley High School for inviting The Honorable Rev. Dr. Gordon V. Barrows to speak with his civics & government classes! 🙌

For more than 7 years, this annual tradition has helped students connect with local government in a meaningful way. 🏛️ Students asked questions about becoming mayor, responsibilities, salary, and real community issues.

Mayor Barrows shared opportunities through Junior Council & Junior Chamber programs, offering pathways for leadership, scholarships, and networking. 🤝🎓 Students also received business cards for future job references & letters of recommendation. 💼📇

The classes concluded with a lively Q&A on major projects including the Community Playground & Park, entrepreneurship, the former Rite Aid Building, University Korner Gas Station, and local business/job growth. 🏗️🌆

🚨 Scam Alert: Stay One Step Ahead! 📞

The Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department is sharing an important public safety update. A local resident recently received a fraudulent phone call that appeared to come from the police department’s number. The caller falsely claimed to be an officer and attempted to gather private information for a fake investigation. Thankfully, the resident recognized the warning signs and reported the incident right away.

⚠️ Important Reminder: Law enforcement agencies will not call and ask for sensitive personal or financial information over the phone. Scammers often use “spoofing” technology to make calls look legitimate.

✅ What You Should Do:
• Do not share personal information over the phone
• Hang up immediately if something feels off
• Report suspicious calls right away
