🚨 DROUGHT WATCH ISSUED FOR CLARION COUNTY 🚨

💧 The Commonwealth Drought Task Force has officially declared a Drought Watch for 25 counties across Pennsylvania, including Clarion County. This action follows the September 29, 2025, task force meeting, prompted by consistent dry conditions throughout the region.

🗺️ Counties now under a Drought Watch include:
Beaver, Bradford, Butler, Cambria, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lycoming, McKean, Mercer, Potter, Schuylkill, Somerset, Tioga, Venango, Warren, and Washington.

💦 What You Can Do:
Everyone is encouraged to voluntarily reduce water use by 5% to help conserve resources. Simple steps like fixing leaks, taking shorter showers, and limiting outdoor watering can make a big difference!

📣 RVMA is Hiring: Build Your Career & Serve Your Community

Join a friendly rural community of about 4,500 to 5,000 with affordable housing, good schools, youth sports, award winning trails, and great hunting and fishing. New Bethlehem is central to three county seats and hospitals. It is a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Redbank Valley Municipal Authority is hiring a full time Water or Sewage Treatment Operator, or a motivated Trainee. Schedule is 40 hours per week with a weekend rotation and occasional holiday coverage. Water and sewer emergencies can happen anytime. Keep your phone on and respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If an alarm sounds at 2 a.m., respond as soon as possible and work with your team to fix it.

This is hands-on work. You must be able to lift 50 or more pounds and be comfortable working outdoors or in confined spaces. Pay starts at $18 dollars per hour. Earn $1 dollar more per hour after you obtain and submit the required certification. Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required. Trainees must obtain the required license within two years.

Benefits include health insurance, up to $2,000 dollars per year in retirement contribution, paid vacation, seven holidays, personal and sick time, a $150 dollar boot reimbursement, and licensing support.

🚸✨ Teamwork for a Safer New Bethlehem! ✨🚸

A HUGE thank you to the New Bethlehem Borough Public Works Department: Roger, Chris, and Josh, for painting the crosswalk lines on RT 28 / Broad Street this morning! 🎨🛣️

Special thanks to the RVMA crew: Mike, Nathan, and Rory, for assisting with traffic control 🚦, and to the New Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Company: Bruce Young, Matthew Green, and Mayor Gordon Barrows, for lending a hand. We’re also grateful to the Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department and Chief Bob Malnofsky for keeping everyone safe during this high-risk job 👮‍♂️💙.

Painting crosswalks on such a busy road is no small task, but this team came together to protect our children, youth, and community. These crosswalks were completed with our local daycares and school students in mind, ensuring they have a safe place to cross every day. 🏫❤️

New Bethlehem is blessed with dedicated workers and volunteers who care about our safety! 🌟

A huge shoutout to the dedicated employees of the Redbank Valley Municipal Authority for repairing the sinkhole on Wood Street today! 🙌 This issue was caused by a water leak earlier in the year, and thanks to your hard work, it’s been resolved successfully. 🛠️💦
