Parents of 8th grade students: Tomorrow morning, Renton 8th graders will begin taking the state tests known as M-Step. Your assistance in making sure that students are in school on time and prepared means a great deal to us! Once a student begins taking a test, they must finish it on the same day. Please let us know as soon as possible if a student must miss school.

Seventh grade testing will begin on April 27 and sixth grade testing will begin on May 18.

Final Exams take place next week. English and SS exams will take place on Tuesday, March 10 and on Wednesday March 11 students will take their Math and Science exams.

If you are available to help out with the dance on Friday, February 13 from 3:00-4:30, please let the office know by Thursday afternoon. Background checks must be run before you are able to volunteer in the school.

7th grade girls interested in doing so can try out for basketball tonight from 3:00-4:30. 8th grade will follow from 4:30-6:00. All students wishing to try out must have a physical on file.

7th and 8th grade students interested in trying out for wrestling can do so today at 3:00.

Please join our Concert and Symphonic bands for their performance this evening at 7:00 in the Huron High School Auditorium. Tomorrow evening, the beginning band and choir will perform at the same time in the high school auditorium. Mrs. Bressler and our musicians have worked hard to put on a great holiday themed show!

We have a very busy week at Renton! Competitive Cheer has a competition tonight at Grosse Ile at 5:00 and our 7th and 8th grade boys' basketball teams play Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday all at home. 7th grade games are at 4:00 and 8th Plays at 5:00.
On Thursday, Renton will host our Holiday Dance immediately following school until 4:30. Please make sure that your students have a ride arranged by 4:45 at the latest.

If you are interested in helping out at the Holiday Dance on Thursday, please notify the school office by Wednesday. Background checks need to be run for all volunteers. We greatly appreciate all of your help!!!

Renton's Halloween Dance takes place this Thursday immediately following school until 4:30. Students are allowed to bring costumes to change into, bur are not allowed to wear them during the school day. Costumes must be school appropriate and can not include any form of weapons. Parents that are interested in volunteering, please notify the school office by the end of the day on Wednesday so that background checks can be completed before the dance.

Tryouts for winter sports will take place as follows: Competitive Cheer on the 27th, 28th, and 29th from 3:00-5:00 in the Renton Gym. 7th grade boys' basketball will be on the 27th and 28th from 6:00-7:00 and 8th grade will be on the same days from 5:00-6:00.

Boys' Basketball sign-ups will take place this week during lunch. A grade check will be run for all boys that sign-up before tryouts. Any student that wishes to try out, must have a completed physical form on file with the athletic department.
