🐾💙 YOU ASKED HOW TO HELP OUR AFFORDABLE URGENT CARE CENTER... HERE'S HOW! 💙🐾

We would like to thank everyone for being just as excited about our new Affordable Urgent Care Center for New Hampshire pets and families as we are!

The response has been incredible. We have received so many texts, emails, messages, and comments asking how you can help make this dream a reality.

There is still a lot of work to do before we can open our doors in January 2027. Renovations, construction, walls, cabinetry, equipment, furnishings, and medical supplies are all needed to transform the space into a fully functioning veterinary facility.

If you'd like to help, here are two important ways:

Our 3rd Annual Putts for Paws Charity Golf Tournament is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. We are still looking for:

💙 #2 Support AWARE NH During NH Gives

NH Gives takes place June 9-10, and every donation helps us move one step closer to opening this much needed affordable urgent care resource for New Hampshire pets and families.

Most importantly, 100% of the funds raised from both Putts for Paws and NH Gives will go directly toward preparing our new Affordable Urgent Care Center for opening.

Every dollar raised will help fund renovations, cabinetry, walls, equipment, furnishings, medical supplies, and everything else needed to bring affordable urgent care to New Hampshire pet owners.

Please register your dogs! We have over 250 dogs in town to still register, we're getting there, but we want to help you avoid the Civil forfeiture ($35+ per dog) coming up on June 21st. We're calling everyone on our list to remind them, but we really need to get those dogs registered, please!

🚨 The Second Pyometra Emergency This Week 🚨

💔🐾 PLEASE, PLEASE SPAY YOUR PETS 🐾💔

Last night, AWARE NH received another desperate plea for help from a family whose dog, Lia, was suffering from pyometra—a life threatening infection of the uterus. Sadly, this was the second pyometra emergency we have seen this week.

The family knew Lia needed surgery to survive, but they simply could not afford the emergency veterinary costs.

What breaks our hearts is that nearly every owner we have helped through a pyometra emergency has told us the same thing:

"I had no idea that not spaying my dog could cause this."

Pyometra is preventable through spaying. Once it develops, there is no medication or simple fix. The only treatment is emergency surgery, which is often far more complicated, risky, and expensive than a routine spay because the uterus is infected and can rupture.

Without treatment, pyometra is fatal.

We did not have a clinic scheduled today, but we are incredibly fortunate to have a team that always puts animals first. A huge thank you to Dr. Amy and vet tech Julie, who came in on their day off to help Lia. They literally saved her life. 💙🐾

We are happy to report that Lia's surgery went well, and she is now home recovering with her family. 💙

We are sharing this because we want pet owners to be aware. We hear many reasons why people are hesitant to spay their pets, and we understand that owners have questions and concerns. We are here to help.

Per RSA 466:14, Civil Forfeiture late fees at $35.44 begins June 21st. Please come in to register your dogs or visit the town website to avoid these fees! New Boston still has 350+ unlicensed dogs in town.

Please be aware of the dog licensing RSA -

Dog Civil Forfeitures, per RSA 466:13 are issued to owners of dogs who fail to renew or license their dog pursuant to RSA 466:1. A Civil Forfeiture letter is delivered to the owner of the unlicensed dog, which notifies them of their delinquency and assesses them a $25.00 forfeiture. The owner has 15 days from the date the Forfeiture was given to license the dog and pay the Forfeiture.

Late fees are about to begin, please license your dogs ASAP!

Please come in to register your dogs! The deadline, April 30th, has passed and late fees have begun. We still have over 400 dogs in town that need to be licensed this year! If anything has changed and your dog is no longer with you, please email or call our office to update this info.
