Public Announcement for New Braintree Residents:

On May 21, 2026:
10am- DCR will be doing a controlled burn in the area of Hardwick and Ravine Road until early afternoon.

6:30pm-9:30pm -Life Flight will be conducting training at the New Braintree Town Hall.
* please do not use the town hall parking lot during this time.

Hardwick (Gilbertville section of town) | MA | Area of 830 Lower Road | BRUSH FIRE | Car-1 on scene with a working large brush fire, about to jump the train tracks | 04/14/2026 - 10:08

10:10 - Command striking a Second Alarm Brush Assignment. Fire has jumped the train tracks over to River Run. Mutual aid dispatched.

10:17 - Command reporting they have fire "running" towards structures on River Run, at this time.

10:55 - Command reporting they have the fire under control and contained. Extensive mop-up/ overhaul.

11:00 - Holding Hardwick, New Braintree, Barre and Oakham units on scene, releasing the rest of the assignment.

16:30 - Command advising that the bulk of the fire has been extinguished. Extensive mop-up.

20:00 - Small rekindle. Handling with New Braintree Car-3, Forestry-1, Engine-2 and Hardwick Car-1.

14:41 - Command advising that the vehicle has been removed, all hazards cleared up. West Brookfield Rescue Squad obtained (1) pt refusal.
