National Wolf Awareness Week
Did you know?

♥️Red wolves live in the Southeastern U.S., where they are endangered. In 1987, a breeding program introduced red wolves back into North Carolina.

🤠The Texas red wolf was a small subspecies of the red wolf native to Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, which became extinct in the wild during the 20th century due to intensive predator eradication policies and hybridization with coyotes

📅Today, about 100 red wolves live in the wild.
Wolves live and hunt in packs of about four to 10. They can roam up to 50 miles in a single day.

Just some fun information!
✨🐺 National Wolf Awareness week runs from 18th October to 24th October 2026🐺✨
Every year marked as the official National Wolf Awareness Week, this week is to celebrate their unique place in the animal kingdom, and learn more about their threatened place in the natural world today.

Fun facts:

**Wolves’ howls are like fingerprints. Other pack members (and scientists) use them to tell certain animals apart.

**There are three species of wolves in the world: the gray, the red and the Ethiopian (or Abyssinian). Gray wolves and red wolves live in North America. There are five subspecies of the gray wolf — Alaskan, Arctic, Great Plains, Eastern and Mexican wolves.
