4H is an incredible program…I was in it as a kid, too!
It’s also a good resume builder as your kid starts to think in terms of college opportunities, and further jobs and service after that.

🔥 Burn Ban Reinstated for Comal County
Effective Friday, August 21 at 6:00 AM, the burn ban is back in effect for unincorporated areas of Comal County. Our KBDI (drought index) sits at 553 today and is climbing roughly ten points a day, so conditions are getting drier by the hour.

During the burn ban, the following are NOT allowed:
Brush fires
Campfires
Burn barrels
Fire pits and rings
Any other open flame

The only exception is a BBQ pit that is off the ground and has a lid to contain sparks and flames, and those are for cooking purposes only.

Please help us keep Comal County safe. One spark in these conditions can spread fast.

I'm so thankful for having had Tom as a resource and mentor for the past 12 years. I'm a better commissioner for that, and Comal County, Texas is a better place for having here for the past 33 years. We are so grateful for his service~

Still INCREDIBLE river FUN flows!

Canyon Reservoir Release Update

Effective today, GBRA, in coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is adjusting the Canyon Reservoir release rate from 300 to 250 cubic feet per second (CFS). Maintaining a steady release rate helps gradually lower the reservoir back toward its normal conservation pool while balancing downstream conditions. The adjustment will help continue reducing water levels in the reservoir’s flood pool as inflows remain elevated. Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority and the USACE will continue monitoring reservoir levels and inflows and adjust release rates based on reservoir level, watershed inflows, weather forecasts, and downstream conditions.

As you enjoy the Guadalupe River, please use caution, stay informed of changing conditions, and continue doing your part to conserve water.

For the latest Canyon Reservoir conditions and release information, visit the GBRA Basin Conditions page. Link in first comment.
