12:15pm: Only one lane remains closed in the area of SH 46 West at Mission Valley Road. Drivers should continue to expect traffic delays in the area until all lanes have reopened and traffic resumes its normal flow.

SH 46 West at Mission Valley Road is currently closed in both directions. The New Braunfels Police and Fire departments are assisting the Texas Department of Public Safety with a traffic stop and accident at that location. Drivers should expect significant traffic delays in the area, avoid the area if possible, and try to find alternate routes.

FLASH FLOOD WARNING until 12:15 AM for South Central Comal County and Northern Bexar County. Doppler radar shows 2 to 3 inches of rain have already fallen in the warned area, with another 1 to 2 inches possible. Flash flooding is happening now or expected very soon.
Please stay off the roads if you can.

Flood Advisory for Eastern Comal County until 11:45 PM tonight. Heavy rain from thunderstorms has already dropped 1 to 2 inches, with up to 1 more inch possible. Expect minor flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas, along with water over roadways.

⚠️Heads up, Comal County! The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for a strong thunderstorm currently near Wimberley, moving west at 15 mph. This storm could bring wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
Areas that could be impacted include Gruene, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Canyon Lake Dam, Spring Branch, Smithson Valley, Twin Fischer, Startzville, and Sattler.
Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects, so now’s a good time to bring in anything loose from your yard or patio. Stay weather aware and keep an eye on the sky.

Comal County will be testing our low water crossing warning system and outdoor warning sirens on Friday, August 28, starting at 9 a.m.
If you hear a siren on Friday, there’s no need to be alarmed. It’s part of routine testing to make sure our warning systems are working properly.

Zorn, or 8 miles north of Seguin, moving west at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
New Braunfels, Seguin, McQueeney, Santa Clara, Geronimo, Zorn,

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects, so if you’re outdoors, consider heading inside. Torrential rain with this storm may also lead to localized flooding.
