Don’t forget to take your stuff!

Our quarterly residential Bulky Goods Drop-Off event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 7 to 11 a.m. at four locations. Please remember that trailers are NOT accepted at City sites. All trailers must go to the landfill.

• Walnut Springs Elementary – 1900 S. Walnut Avenue
• Mesquite Creek Landfill – FM 1101 & Kohlenberg Road

NOTE: If you’re dropping off a mattress, go to the City Hall, Walnut Springs Elementary, or the Mesquite Creek Landfill locations. Mattresses will NOT be accepted at the NBU Service Center.

Applications are open for the City of New Braunfels Charter Review Commission.

The Charter Review Commission is a City Council-appointed board made up of at least seven members, all of which must reside within the city limits of New Braunfels. Each member of City Council will appoint a member to the commission who will serve through May 2027.

The Charter Review Commission will be tasked with reviewing the city charter and submitting recommended changes to City Council in anticipation of a potential May 2027 Charter Amendment Election.

A minimum of seven members, all of whom must be New Braunfels residents living within city limits, will be chosen — one by each council member and the mayor. The commission will review the charter in its entirety and recommend amendments to city council, leading up to a potential charter amendment election in May, 2027.

NBPD Seeking Tips from the Public

The New Braunfels Police Department is seeking help from the public following a recent assault case. On July 23, between 2:50am and 4am, an adult female was physically assaulted by an unknown male while outside in the 3200 block of Wren Brook Drive. Investigators are looking for security camera footage or information about suspicious activity in this area during this time frame.

Anyone with information is asked to contact New Braunfels Police directly at 830-221-4100 or, to remain anonymous, contact Comal County Crime Stoppers. On Friday, September 11, 2026, the City of New Braunfels will hold a ceremony marking the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The event will begin at 7:25 a.m. and feature members of the New Braunfels Fire and Police Department, who will march from the downtown Central Fire Station on Hill Avenue to Main Plaza. The ceremony will begin at approximately 7:40 a.m.

The ceremony will include a flag-raising and lowering ceremony at 7:46 a.m., commemorating the time American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The ceremony will also include an invocation, brief remarks from local dignitaries, and a bell ringing in memory of fallen first responders.

Traffic around Main Plaza will be closed beginning at approximately 7:15 a.m. Those attending the ceremony are encouraged to gather near the flagpole and bandstand.
