ICE action isn’t just in big metro areas, it’s happening right here in New Braunfels and Comal County. Families are being ripped apart, and this impacts US citizens as well as other community members. A great nation does not treat people with cruelty and injustice. All people deserve due process, respect, and to be treated humanely. We stand up for humanity and demand that all people be treated with dignity. Join the vigil for people who have been killed or abducted by ICE, Saturday, August 29, starting at 5pm at the square. This event is led by Indivisible Hill Country and Young Democrats of Greater Comal County, and we will join them in solidarity.

HATE HAS NO PLACE IN NEW BRAUNFELS.

Comal County Young Republicans hosted the White Papers Policy Institute — a group whose own draft legislation proposes removal programs for U.S. citizens and legal residents with post-1965 immigrant ancestry, and separately, explicitly, for the African American community as a whole. Not just undocumented immigrants. U.S. citizens. THIS is New Braunfels’ answer. THIS is our moment to show up.

Recently, our community watched a local group platform white nationalist rhetoric — “invasion,” “replacement” — right here in New Braunfels. Silence isn’t an option. August 22nd, we answer bigger and louder: our whole community, standing together in Main Plaza.

Today, we celebrated the end of our Inaugural Fellowship Program! Thank you to the families and friends who joined us to support our Fellows’ accomplishments. We are truly grateful!

Over the past 8 weeks, 10 fellows worked with 3 campaigns and local democratic organizers to support 1 goal: build a better future for our communities by electing bold, practical and Progressive candidates up and down the ballot!

Along the way, Fellows learned crucial skills in organizing and leadership. To the Fellows: thank you for letting us be apart of your journey. We are always in your corner!

To the candidates: thank you for extending your insights and this opportunity to young people in your district. Let’s win in November!
