PURA welcomes United Illuminating customers to participate in a public comment hearing for the company’s ongoing rate case. These hearings pertain to Docket No. 24-10-04, which was initiated in November 2024 when the company submitted an application requesting approval to amend their existing rate schedule.

Today at 5:30pm, a public comment hearing will be held at the Fairfield Public Library Rotary Room at 1080 Old Post Road in Fairfield. PURA encourages public participation in these proceedings.

PURA has opened a docket to identify improvements to equity and accessibility in its proceedings, Docket No. 24-09-07. We are interested in improving opportunities for participation in decision-making processes, particularly for low-income residential customers, residential customers that experience high energy burdens, and individuals and communities impacted by PURA decisions.

PURA intends to hold public meetings on March 20, 2025, and May 16, 2025. We welcome suggestions as to specific towns and event locations, such as libraries, town halls, or other community spaces, and input on how these public meetings could be made more accessible to community members, including timing, provision of childcare, and transit access.

Comments in this docket are due January 17 at 4pm. For more information on how to file a public comment, view our webpage below.
