Due to forecasted high temperatures and humidity, all CSDNB schools will be dismissed two hours early today, Friday, June 12, 2026. Smalley will dismiss at 12:45 PM.

Lunch will be served.

YMCA, YWCA and Boys & Girls Club will be open after school.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Multicultural Festival! It was an incredible evening filled with delicious food, lively music, dancing, and fun games that brought our school community together.

We were thrilled to celebrate the many cultures that make our school so special.

A huge thank you to all who attended and helped make the festival such a success. We also want to give a special shout-out supporters who donated to our event.

🌟 Congratulations to Ms. Alicia Strong! 🌟

We are proud to celebrate our very own Ms. Alicia Strong, who was recently recognized at the YWCA New Britain Women in Leadership Awards 2026 for her leadership, dedication, and positive impact on our community.

Ms. Strong shared:

"Proud to have grown up a YWCA New Britain girl—starting in daycare and continuing through school of dance classes for over 10 years. This space helped shape who I am today. Honored to now be recognized by a place that poured so much into me. Congratulations to my fellow honorees."

Her journey is a powerful reminder of how community, perseverance, and service can inspire future generations. We are grateful for the leadership, compassion, and commitment she brings to our school each day.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our Student Council Humane Society Animal Drive! 🐾

Over the past several weeks, our school community came together to collect much-needed supplies for the Newington Humane Society. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate a variety of items that will help provide comfort and care for animals waiting to find their forever homes.

We are incredibly grateful to all students, families, and staff who contributed to this effort. Your kindness will make a difference in the lives of many animals in our community.

Thank you for helping us support such an amazing organization! ❤️🐶🐱

🎀 Smalley’s “Makeover the Melon” was a huge success! 🎀

Our students and staff teamed up for a fun-filled fundraiser benefiting the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative and supporting breast cancer research and awareness. Students cast their votes through donations to choose which staff member would sport a brand-new PINK look! We also hosted a dressdown week full of fun themes.

With amazing school spirit and community support, we proudly raised more than $1,200 for this important cause.

Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and cheered on the fun. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make a meaningful difference!

Throwback Thursday: Reflecting on a time when Mrs. Andrews won a prestigious award.....

Early dismissal today due to the high temperatures - Smalley will dismiss at 12:45 PM. YMCA and YWCA programs are open. No Parks and Recreation. The Boys and Girls Club will open at 3PM - students will NOT be transported from Smalley to the Boys and Girls Club today.

With high temperatures expected today, we have decided to adjust the school schedule out of an abundance of caution. ALL CSDNB SCHOOLS will have an early dismissal today, Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

We will follow the Two-Hour Early Dismissal Schedule posted on our website. All schools will end two hours before their regularly scheduled time. Lunch WILL still be provided.
