The Connecticut Citizens Defense League is a non-partisan, grassroots organization devoted to advocating rights affirmed by the Constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Connecticut. We are especially dedicated to protecting the unalienable right of all citizens to keep and bear arms, for the defense of both self and state, through public enlightenment and legislative action.

We welcome anyone who believes that the defense of our constitutional rights is critical to the longevity of our freedom and to the success of this nation, and in particular that the rights to self defense and to keep and bear the arms to actualize that defense, are fundamental and undeniable.

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!

Just THREE more conferences to go this session, and SCOTUS has just relisted our case challenging the ban on so-called “assault weapons” for the 14th time.

As the end of June nears, we grow hopeful that SCOTUS has been waiting all session to grant cert to an AW case. Granting cert to hot-button topics at the end of the session is not out of character for this court.

CCDL Executives took the stage this weekend at the INAUGURAL Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) New England Fi****ms Advocacy Conference (NEFAC).

Patriots from across New England’s state 2A advocacy groups came together for the first time to share strategy and build regional support for our fights at home.

We were thrilled for the first time to be able to formally meet and work with our neighbors. We look forward to keeping the momentum going together.

Our case, Grant v. Higgins (Lamont) challenging the ban on so-called “assault weapons” has survived another week. 🤩

As we look forward, we hope to see SCOTUS grant cert to our case and the rest of “The Big Five” 2A cases challenging AW and magazine bans across the country. This term ends at the end of the month with just four conferences to go, by which we’ll have been granted, denied, or held into the next term.

It’s official. Lamont has signed H.B. 5043, the ban on so-called “convertible pistols”. No surprises here, Governor Lamont originally proposed this bill.

Connecticut has banned the sale of non-exempted pistols with a cruciform trigger bar manufactured after October 1st, 2026.

Gunowners MUST come together at the polls in November to oust Lamont so that he cannot continue to tread on our constitutionally-recognized rights.

The Supreme Court has relisted our case for now the 12th time. “The Big Five” 2A cases survive yet another week for further consideration by the nation’s highest court.

Being such a contentious issue, at this point one may guess that the court is waiting until the last conference of their session to announce their decision. 🤔
