New Britain Police Explorers New Britain Police Explorers Post 25 The explorers attend a meeting every Sunday between 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the Police Department.

The New Britain Police Explorers is a program sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America and the New Britain Police Department for young adults between the ages of 14 - 21 years old who are interested in law enforcement. This program teaches explorers, among other things; how the Police Department operates, the different functions and duties of police officers working for the department, and how to in

teract with the community. Besides teaching the young adults about law enforcement, they are also taught the basics in life such as how to interact with different people, to be honest, trustworthy, and reliable. Depending on what is to be accomplished at the meeting, the explorers are taught about police work, participate in role playing, play sports, and/or have a business meeting. Sometimes the meetings are canceled due to the fact that the explorers participate in city functions. For example, looking for lost children, assisting city officers in traffic and crowd control during the Memorial Day parade and Fourth of July Fireworks; etc. The Explorers also attend the annual Stations Day competition. The Boy Scouts of America only offers secondary coverage in regards to insurance since the primary coverage of the explorer will be from the parent's insurance or the State. To be an explorer, you must be between the ages of 14-21 years old. You must be law-abiding and follow the rules set by Post 25 and B.S.A.

The Explorers will be having an orientation for those who are interested in the program, which is for youths ages 14-21. The orientation this Sunday, September 7th at the police department (10 Chestnut Street) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is open to those who are interested and their parents/guardians. Our Jeep show was a huge success, and we want to thank everyone who came out to support it! With around 100 Jeeps on display and a great crowd of spectators, it was an incredible day!

A very special thank you goes to Becky from New England Jeep Convoys. She dedicated months of hard work to this event—securing vendors, food trucks, and raffle prizes, while also helping with advertising and coordinating Jeep clubs to ensure a strong turnout.

We truly cannot thank her enough for her commitment to the Explorers and this show. Simply put, this event would not have been possible without her!
