If your child is in the Marching Band, please attend the PMA Meeting tonight, Oct 3. A rep from Perkins Travel will be there to discuss the Feb Disney trip.
Mark your calendar and attend Parent-Teacher Conferences on Oct 13. Checking in with teachers is one of the best ways you can help your child stay on track and succeed in school. If you have a conflict, please use email to touch base with each one of your child’s teachers; addresses are listed on the school website, https://sites.google.com/a/csdnbstaff.org/nbhs/staff.
All NBHS families and staff are invited to the Madrigal/Treble Choir Pasta Dinner fundraiser on Wed, Oct 19. For just $10, you’ll enjoy a tasty meal and live entertainment! Bring extra cash for raffle tickets and enter to win some great prizes. Invite family, friends, and neighbors to join you! Tickets available at the door or in advance from Madrigal and Treble Choir members. Look forward to seeing you there!
The monthly PTO meeting is scheduled for Oct 20 at 6:30 pm in the media center. Agenda items include the Bonfire (Nov 7) and the Election Day Bake Sale (Nov 8). Principal Joe Pinchera is guest speaker. Come meet other parents and teachers and learn what’s new at NBHS! Please note the meeting starts a half hour earlier than in past years.
More than 100 local and regional colleges will be at the College Fair on Oct 25. Juniors will attend during period 1, seniors during period 2. Individual college reps also continue to visit NBHS this month. For a list of dates and schools, click on https://sites.google.com/a/csdnbstaff.org/nbhs/registration-guidance/career-center---college-visit-dates. Seniors and their parents/guardians are invited to Fall for Success on Sat, Oct 29. The free event starts at 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon in the NBHS café and continues at 1 p.m. with a financial aid session where families will learn about the college financial aid process and get help filling out their FAFSA form. To register and for a list of what to bring, visit http://www.asfdn.org/news-college-goal-saturday.php. Walk-ins are welcomed, but pre-registration is recommended. Questions? Contact Heather Hokunson at American Savings Foundation, [email protected] or 860-827-2556.
