Mascots are a fun way to celebrate and come together, do you agree?

We send our condolences to the Bristol Department of Public Works on the loss of their mascot, Gizmo.

Gizmo was rescued from the freezing weather on a bulk pick up day by the fine workers of the City of Bristol. She was in rough shape, but because of the kindness and nurturing of the Bristol Department of Public Works she became a friendly ball of fluff rolling around in her hamster ball.

She is missed and she serves as a reminder to be careful about what you put in your trash.

I wonder if Gizmo was a voice for recycling, composting, bio-sustainable packaging, etc? I haven't learned to speak Hamster yet, so we may never know.

For a bonus story, read here about a Farmer's Insurance Agent with a minature horse office mascot: https://www.theriverbanknews.com/news/local-news/local-business-welcomes-unique-rescued-mascot/

Someone dumped Gizmo the hamster in the freezing cold earlier this year, but city workers came to the rescue. And now she’s a star.
