Six members of our Roxbury Woman's Club walking group, pictured here, recently stopped by to visit the tree that the Roxbury Woman's Club donated back in 2020 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Women's Right to vote. 106 years ago, in August of 1920, the 19th Amendment was officially certified and adopted, guaranteeing American women the constitutional right to vote. Previously, on August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified when Tennessee became the vital 36th state needed for ratification. In 1973, this day was designated as Women's Equity Day and our club's tree, a "Cercis Black Pearl tree", was planted at Horseshoe Lake in Succasunna, is doing well, and three of our current members, also pictured, were there at the planting!

Lots going on at our Roxbury Woman's Club's August Craft/Social night! Club members were encouraged to bring any crafts they were working on or just come to socialize! This month we had members working on crochet baby blankets, oil painting, adult coloring and flash cards for one of our club projects.
We also had a chance to see some of the baby blankets that club members are making for our donation to Project Linus and more about this project at the end of the month when we will be donating all the blankets we created as well as yarn donated.

Book and Needle members enjoyed getting together for two fun social gatherings this summer. In late July over 10 members enjoyed a fun mid-summer craft making session, where they unleashed their creativity and socialized with fellow crafty enthusiasts. They made beautifully decorative sea shells using paper napkins, and decoupage, which they embellished with glitter, shell embellishments, and metallic markers., perfect for decorating their homes or giving as gifts.

In Mid- August our VP of Membership hosted a summer BBQ at her house where members had the opportunity to enjoy a tasty assortment of grilled chicken and meats, vegetables and delectable desserts. The warm and sunny weather set the tone for a night filled with joy, laughter, and camaraderie, as they savored the delectable spread of grilled chicken, meats, rice and vegetables, accompanied by an array of sweet desserts.

Thank you to our amazing Arts and Culture Crafts Chair, Marie, for organizing and hosting our summer craft session and to our fantastic VP of Membership Kalsoom for hosting our fun BBQ get- together. We're so thankful we were able to connect with each other during the summer and we look forward to more opportunities for our members to come together for fun, friendship and service during our upcoming busy fall season.

The Woman's Club of West Deptford's Crochet Group met over the summer to work on their projects, sharing tips and techniques, and learning from each other's experiences. We have some incredibly talented members who have been busy creating beautiful items 🧵🎨

There is also a foil lined round zip bag that had a plate of brownies likely from Convention.
If they are yours, please make arrangements to pick them up.

Members of the PLWC
kicked off the Summer by attending the Culinary Committee's final event of the season themed "Summer Breeze." Everyone brought their own boxed lunch sandwich while the committee provided homemade salads, chips, desserts and a taste of sangria. The group split into three teams for Summer trivia with the "Bikini Babes" taking the win. We also enjoyed summer music, a summer word search, and a "guess how many marshmallows are in the jar" contest for a s’mores-themed prize. It was a fun evening of great food, games and conversation. Looking forward to next season! 🌞

Earlier this Summer, the Book & Needle Woman's Club of Oradell hosted a celebratory tea honoring new NJSFWC President Susan Chambers. Presidents from clubs throughout the Palisades District were in attendance, along with several members of the NJSFWC Executive Committee, Oradell Council Member Maggie Harrer, and several special guests. The PLWC
June meeting was a busy one. We enjoyed our annual Ice Cream Social, admired Achievement Day entries and presented awards, installed two new members and thanked outgoing President Maria Kent for her outstanding service over the past two years. In addition, we presented donations to the Volunteer Fire Department, Volunteer First Aid Squad, the Office of Emergency Management and the Library. Thank you to the Hospitalty Committee and other Club members who volunteered that night.
We had a great selection of ice cream and toppings and the tables and room were creatively decorated.
