Six members of our Roxbury Woman's Club walking group, pictured here, recently stopped by to visit the tree that the Roxbury Woman's Club donated back in 2020 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Women's Right to vote. 106 years ago, in August of 1920, the 19th Amendment was officially certified and adopted, guaranteeing American women the constitutional right to vote. Previously, on August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified when Tennessee became the vital 36th state needed for ratification. In 1973, this day was designated as Women's Equity Day and our club's tree, a "Cercis Black Pearl tree", was planted at Horseshoe Lake in Succasunna, is doing well, and three of our current members, also pictured, were there at the planting!
