A huge congratulations to Ella and Reed! The union members and the department are always trying to keep the remembrance of Jamie alive. This scholarship not only does that but also helps the future generations of our community.

A special thank you to Bob and Carol Middlebrook and well as Gary Lawson for making this all possible, and creating this amazing scholarship.

On Saturday, May 23rd, Reed Robinson and Ella Scott were awarded the Jamie Middlebrook Memorial Scholarship by the New Carlisle Fire Department, honoring fallen firefighter Jamie Middlebrook.

As a part of the recognition, both students also received $5000 to go toward post-high school expenses. Thank you NCFD for providing great opportunities for New Prairie Seniors!!!

Congratulations Assistant Chief Hess!

Today, we are proud to recognize a significant professional achievement within our department.

Assistant Fire Chief Chad Hess has officially earned his Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

The CFO designation represents one of the highest levels of professional development in the fire service. It reflects a commitment to leadership, strategic planning, risk reduction, and effective emergency response coordination. Achieving this credential requires a combination of advanced education, extensive experience, and demonstrated competency across all aspects of fire department administration.

Candidates must hold the rank of Battalion Chief or higher and complete a rigorous credentialing process based on a point system that evaluates both education and professional experience. This ensures that those who earn the designation have proven their ability to lead organizations, manage resources responsibly, and serve their communities at the highest level.

Chief Hess’s accomplishment is a testament to his dedication to the fire service, his commitment to continuous improvement, and his leadership within our organization. His efforts strengthen not only our department, but also the level of service we provide to the community every day.
