📢 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: RUMPKE TRASH SERVICE

The City of New Carlisle and Rumpke are currently reviewing residential trash accounts that are past due and will have service discontinued for nonpayment.

Residents are reminded that under City of New Carlisle Ordinances, Rumpke is the City’s designated residential trash and recycling provider for single-family and double-family (duplex) households. City Ordinance Section 1060.17 requires these properties to utilize the City-approved waste collection service.

If your Rumpke account has a past-due balance, please contact Rumpke as soon as possible to make payment arrangements or restore your account to good standing. Rumpke will remove trash carts from properties where service has been discontinued for nonpayment.

Residents who fail to establish or restore required trash service may receive a notice from the City. Continued noncompliance may result in a misdemeanor citation requiring an appearance in New Carlisle Mayor’s Court. Under Section 1060.99, violations may be punishable by a fine of up to $100, and each day a violation continues may constitute a separate offense.

A one-year moratorium on new V**e Shops, Tattoo Shops, Gas Stations, Auto Repair Businesses, Vehicle Sales Lots, Cannabis Dispensaries, Solar Farms, and Data Centers has been approved. This temporary measure is designed to give the community and local officials time to carefully study these uses and consider their potential impact on future growth and development.

We're taking this time to make sure future development is the right fit for our community. It gives us a chance to review costs and benefits, listen to residents, and think about how to make the best use of our commercial areas.
