What's Changed:
• Winter Storm Warning for western Greenbrier County
• Winter Weather Advisory for the Alleghanys south into the NC mountains, west/northwest of I-81
• High Wind Warning in effect for along and west of the Blue Ridge, and for western Greenbrier County
• Wind Advisories in effect for remainder of the Mountain Empire and counties along the Blue Ridge
• Extreme Cold Warning in effect for western Greenbrier and Bath Counties
• Cold Weather Advisories in effect for rest of Mountain Empire counties west of the Blue Ridge

Threats:
• Snow
• Strong Winds
• Low Wind Chills
Timing: For the wintry weather, Friday through Saturday morning for areas west of the Blue Ridge
For the strong winds, Friday night into Saturday
For the wind chills, Friday night-Saturday morning

Overview and Impacts:
• Hazardous road conditions due to snow.
• Weak trees, tree branches may be blown down and could cause power outages
• Very cold wind chills could lead to frostbite and hypothermia if unprotected skin is
exposed to these temperatures.

Craig County will have warming centers in place in the event of a known power outage in your area. The locations that will be available upon the notification of a power outage will be:

New Castle Volunteer fire Department, located at 4 4 3 Conrad St., New Castle, VA
And
Simmonsville Volunteer Fire Department, located at 5 7 8 3 Cumberland Gap Rd, Newport, VA
