The mission of the New Castle Area School District is to create a safe and respectful learning environment, fostered by collaborative community partnerships, where all students will develop necessary skills both academically and socially that will prepare future-ready life-long learners who will become productive citizens and resilient leaders in a global society. Students in Miss Wiseman’s Future Educator Club have had a creative start to the school year!

To celebrate Hispanic American Heritage Month, students researched a Hispanic American of their choice or created a craft to recognize and celebrate Hispanic American culture and contributions.

11th-grade students also took on the challenge of planning and decorating the classroom door for October, choosing a fun and festive theme!

And the fun is just getting started! Students are looking forward to several upcoming field trips, more hands-on activities, and opportunities to celebrate throughout the school year.

Mr. Lombardo’s 6th-grade Science students put their engineering skills to the test! Students used four simple materials, spaghetti, straws, wooden skewers, and marshmallows, to design and build structures capable of withstanding an earthquake. Each group began by drawing a blueprint before bringing their creative designs to life.

Through this hands-on STEM challenge, students practiced problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking while exploring the science behind building strong, stable structures. Great job, engineers!

To make the lesson even more exciting, students had the opportunity to taste different types of edible insects! Through observations, discussions, and sensory exploration, our young learners discovered that learning can be both educational and fun!

Dear New Castle Families,

Flywheel Sports Based Youth Development, in partnership with the Preston Automotive Group, is excited to bring affordable winter sports and academic enrichment programming to New Castle families!

Starting October 20th, we are launching our 9-week Winter Enrichment Academy at the LCCTC Gymnasium, offering structured after-school programs in basketball (First-Step Hoops) and youth tennis (Middle School & Elementary Girls, and Co-Ed Red Ball).

Ms. Nocera’s kinder class combined Halloween fun with hands-on learning as they created their own spooky spiders! Students strengthened their fine motor skills by practicing pincer grasp and hand-eye coordination while threading colorful beads onto pipe cleaners. They also put their math skills to work by sorting beads by color.

What a fun and festive way to build important developmental skills while celebrating the Halloween season
