HIDTA Operation - 00100 "Two Birds"

On 08/28/2026, the Lawrence County District Attorney's Special Investigations Unit and HIDTA Group, the Drug Enforcement Administration Group 66, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Union Township Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed two search warrants. Through the course of an investigation, it was determined that 309 Bell Avenue and 906 Emery Street were being utilized to sell, manufacture, and store controlled substances.

The first residence at 309 Bell Avenue was secured by the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT). Inside was the target of the investigation, Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The second residence, 906 Emery Street, was secured by the HIDTA Group and upon entry several individuals were detained pending a search of the residence.

After a methodical search of the residences, investigators located the following evidence:

Approximately 105 grams of suspected Crack Co***ne;
$7,180 in U.S. currency;
1 loaded Stoeger 9mm pistol; and
1 digital weighing scale.

FITZPATRICK was found to have an arrest warrant out of the Mercer County District Attorney's Office and was lodged in the Lawrence County Jail. He will also be charged with Persons Not to Possess Fi****ms, Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a sophisticated phone scam involving fake arrest warrants and fraudulent court documents.

Scammers are posing as law enforcement officers or court officials and falsely claiming you have an active warrant. They pressure victims to stay on the phone while they withdraw cash and direct them to deposit money through a Bitcoin ATM, Coinstar machine, or purchase gift cards.

Remember:
• We will NEVER demand payment over the phone to avoid arrest or clear a warrant.
• We will NEVER ask you to stay on the phone while you go to the bank.
• We will NEVER tell you to pay with Bitcoin, a Coinstar machine, cryptocurrency, or gift cards.

Please share this post to help protect your family, friends, neighbors, and especially our senior citizens from becoming victims of these criminals. Together, we can keep our communities informed and safe.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of an ongoing phone scam.

Scammers are impersonating Sheriff’s Deputies or Federal Court Officials, claiming you missed federal jury duty and have a warrant for your arrest. They may provide fake case numbers and pressure you to stay on the phone while directing you to withdraw money or pay using:

• Gift cards
• Wire transfers
• Cryptocurrency

Know this:

• Courts will NEVER demand payment over the phone
• Law enforcement will NEVER ask for gift cards or crypto
• Federal jury notices are sent ONLY by U.S. Mail

If you receive a call:

• Hang up immediately
• Do NOT give any personal or financial information
• Report it to your local law enforcement
