North Beaver Township Volunteer Fire Department

North Beaver Township Volunteer Fire Department North Beaver TWP. VFD. Provides service to 43 square miles with both fire and EMS coverage. The fire department has created this page with certain goals in mind.

First, we will use this page to spread urgent emergency information throughout the community. Second, we would like to use this page as a tool to spread the message of fire safety to the community. Third, we plan to use this as another means of advertising our fundraising events. Finally, we hope this page will become a valuable recruitment tool. Volunteers are hard to come by. Hopefully this page

will help some community members better understand what we do, and perhaps persuade some people to grab an application.

If you see a large number of first responders and emergency vehicles at Mohawk School tonight, there is no cause for concern. We are conducting the Beaver County power plant exercise at the school as part of emergency preparedness training. This is only a planned exercise and there is no active emergency. Please avoid the area if possible to help keep operations running smoothly.

Volunteer or paid — respect goes both ways. Grateful to work alongside a great city crew.

Volunteer or paid — respect goes both ways. Grateful to work alongside a great city crew.

This evening, Firefighters were dispatched to a residential structure fire on the city’s North Hill. Crews arrived to find smoke showing from the roof, firefighters stretched a 1 3/4’’ handline to the attic and found the seat of the fire. A general alarm was dispatched to summon off duty firefighters.

During overhaul firefighters were dispatched to a second residental structure fire on the city’s West Side, available units cleared the scene along with Shenango Area Fire District and North Beaver Township Fire Department to find a dryer on fire. Units cleared both fires and returned to service.

A huge thank you to our plow drivers who are out battling these dangerous roads. We truly appreciate the dedication and sacrifice it takes to keep our community moving given the treacherous conditions. If you need a break, we're here for you and our doors are open. Stay safe and know how grateful we are for you.

❄️ Winter Weather Update ❄️
With incoming snow, we ask residents to move any vehicles parked along roadways as far off the road as possible to help plow crews.

The township is prepared with salt and equipment ready. Crews will start on main roads and then move to feeder roads.

Please make necessary trips before Sunday, when heavier snow is expected. If you don’t need to travel, please stay off the roads to allow plows and emergency vehicles to operate safely.

We are monitoring the storm with the National Weather Service and Lawrence County Emergency Management and are prepared to open a warming center if needed.

To the guy who drove over the fire hose today—don’t worry, we get it. We’ve all been in a hurry… just usually not ‘let’s-risk-the-entire-fire-operation’ kind of hurry. Next time, take the detour—we promise it’s less exciting.

In challenging moments, it ultimately comes down to one thing: community supporting community.

A huge thank-you to Westfield Presbyterian Church for putting together and hosting the 1st Annual Chili Cookoff! Your time, effort, and hospitality made the event such a success, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

We’d also like to thank the North Beaver community for coming out, supporting, and making it a great day of fun and fellowship.

Congratulations to #11 – Jill Byers, whose chili earned the top votes in a very close competition! 🏆 Every cook did an incredible job, and we appreciate everyone who shared their talents (and recipes!) with us.

We’re truly blessed to be part of such an amazing community — thank you all for your support! ❤️
