The New Castle Police Department would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came out and participated in our 2026 Bike Rodeo! Despite the cloudy, windy weather, we had an incredible turnout and loved seeing so many families, kids, and community members enjoying the event.

We would also like to give a special thank you to the Silt Police Dept for co-hosting this event with us and helping make it such a success.

Additionally, thank you to Colorado River Fire Rescue for your support and participation in this event!

🚨FREE community event🚨
The New Castle Police Department bike rodeo is happening on Saturday, May 30 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Elk Creek Elementary .

Free helmets, free food, dunk tank, foam machine, bicycle obstacle course, giveaways and more!

Please bring your kids and family and come and hang out with us! We look forward to seeing everyone there.

🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT – TEMPORARY CLOSURE 🚧

Highway 6 in New Castle is going to be closed intermittently for periods of up to 25 minutes at a time at the Elk Creek Bridge due to heavy equipment recovery operations.

⏱️ Estimated closure time: Approximately 1 hour

Please plan alternate routes and avoid the area if possible. We appreciate your patience while crews complete this work safely.
