Good Morning Henry County. Here is the updated forcast as of this morning.

We are still expected to recieve around 2-4" of additional snow/sleet fall.

We anticipate the storm being in the area until at least 8pm or so tonight.

Travel is currently very dangerous. Please stay home where you are safe and warm.

Road Condition Update:

State and County Road Crews are working hard to make a good push on roads, however what is left on the roadways is very slick, there are still many roads that are untouched and dangerous. Give them time to work, especially with more snow and sleet continuing to fall.

Well, it appears that there are no changes to the weather forecast, and we are in for one major snowstorm. Latest NWS Map shows our area getting 15” - 18”+ of snow. Snow is already falling in our western counties, so now is the time to make last-minute preparations.
Once the storm is here, please stay in and stay off the roads. For the safety of yourself and others, if you don’t have any reason to be out, don’t. Also make sure any vehicles that you have are not parked on the side of the road. Whether it’s county, city or state, the snow plows are going to need room to get through and do their job.

***I shared several posts last night with warming stations and their locations. Refer back to them for info. If we lose power for an extended time, there are other locations that are available and ready to open if needed!

***Make sure and check on your neighbors. Especially elderly, or that single mom with children….They may need a little extra help.

***If you are running a generator for the first time, make sure it is outside and that the muffler is pointed away from your house. This is to insure your safety and that no carbon monoxide poisoning occurs.

***Be careful shoveling sidewalks or driveways. Take breaks as needed!!

*** As always call 911 for all medical emergencies!

***For Non emergencies call:
State Post # 5 @ 502-532-6363
My office@ 502-845-5707 …calls will be forwarded to cell phones. Leave a message if there is no answer as it could be a busy time!

*** PLEASE DO NOT CALL AND TIE UP LINES ABOUT ROAD CONDITIONS! IF THIS STORM HOLDS TOGETHER, THEY WILL BE BAD! Leave lines open for emergencies!
We will post road conditions on this FB page and update as we can!

Please say a prayer for all those who will be working in these snowy and brutally cold conditions!

I, along with my staff, will keep updating throughout the next several days. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Stay safe and warm!

Due to the impending extreme cold temperatures and the expected snowstorm the members of the Lake Jericho Fire & Rescue Department are planning now to be available to operate a staffed when requested temporary warming station starting Saturday evening beginning at 2:00 P.M. until Sunday Morning until 2:00 P.M. After that time if you are in need you may call 502-845-2104 and our on duty command Fire Officer will open our facility for you.

Remember our temporary warming station is a short-term, temporary option meant to keep residents warm from dangerous cold temperatures.

Here’s what we do provide:

A heated safe-welcoming indoor space.
Restroom access

Here’s what we cannot not provide:

Sleeping arrangements
Long-term stays
Meals, food, or drinks

This option is designed purely for brief respite from the cold, not overnight sheltering.

Please bring:
🔹 Refillable water bottles
🔹 Cell phone chargers

Residents of our Fire District area and surrounding Henry County locations may temporarily utilize the warming station located at our fire station if for some reason they are experiencing a loss of electricity or other essential utilities.

We do recommend that you have a plan on a potential safe backup heat source and alternate lodging arrangements .

Unfortunately, we do not have resources to provide for extended or overnight accommodations.

During this Winter Storm event we ask that you consider checking on your elderly and or disabled neighbors, bring your pets indoors, and limit your exposure to the extreme outdoor temperatures.

As always, residents are reminded to dial 911 for emergency medical requests, all fires, life-threatening situations, or to report a crime in progress.

We would ask that you do not dial 911 to obtain road or weather conditions.

For statewide updates, feel free visit the Kentucky State Police or KYDOT REGION 5 websites, Facebook or other related social media Pages.

If you have further questions or need further guidance on how to find us please feel free to reach out to us here by message on Facebook or by calling (502)-845-2104.

Everyone please remain safe and warm.
