The Lawrence County CARES Center is a drop in center for mental health and recovery and we offer a wide variety of programs such as the Rep Payee Program, the Next Step Program, Client Family Satisfaction Team! Our members regularly visit consumers of mental health and/or substance abuse services. We ask that they complete an anonymous survey regarding the services they receive. This information i
s gathered to ensure quality services are available to consumers in Lawrence County. We report our findings to the Lawrence County Mental Health/Disability Services Office, Value Behavioral Health, and the providers. Please contact Amanda at extension 105 regarding any CST questions. Social Security's Representative Payee Program provides financial management for the Social Security and SSI payments of our beneficiaries who are struggling to manage their payments. Our Rep Payee works with her clients to ensure their needs are met as far as housing, utilities, personal care items, groceries, etc. This is done via careful budgeting each month to ensure financial needs are met. A Drop-In Center is a central place for self-help, advocacy, education, and socialization. The Next Step Center provides an opportunity for socializing and networking that addresses the isolation felt by many, especially those in mental health recovery. The Next Step increases knowledge in community resources and allows individuals to learn from each other. We also provide recreational opportunities such as a pool table, video game systems, movie room, an indoor basketball court, and workout equipment.
