Henry County Conservation District - KY

The Henry County Conservation District will be accepting requests for cost share funding under the Kentucky Soil Erosion and Water Quality Cost Share Program. This program was created to assist agricultural operations in protecting the soil and water resources of Kentucky. This program allows funds to be administered through conservation districts with priority given to animal waste related problems. This program contains best management practices that include rotational grazing systems, alternative watering systems, heavy use feeding areas, sinkhole protection, grassed waterways, and vegetative critical areas, just to name a few examples. Please contact your conservation district for more practice details.
Funding for practices will be approved by the Kentucky Soil and Water Conservation Commission as funds are available. Approved applicants are reimbursed at a 75% cost share rate for installing practices up to the maximum amount allowed per applicant per year. Applications may be requested at any time during the year and are ranked annually.

First off, I want to thank the Henry County Greenhouse class for individually bagging 210 tree seedlings for all the 4th graders in the county!!

☀️☀️Henry County NextGen Farmers summer field day is shaping up to be a great event!! ☀️☀️

We are partnering with The Berry Center to offer a topic about something that almost all Henry County farms have - woodlands. Part of the mission of the NextGen Farmers is to explore new farming enterprises. We will be covering how to integrate woodlands into your farming operation.

This event is not only educational, but it offers a fun night for the family and fellowship with other farmers.

What is Henry County NextGen Farmers?
A local group for those interested in or engaged in production agriculture, focused on diversification, increasing profitability, and exploring new enterprises.

The Henry County Conservation District is now offering a program where we reimburse 50% up to $500.00 on planting hardwood trees for Henry County residents/landowners.

Guidelines when purchasing trees:
*Potted or Burlap trees
*Bare root seedlings
*Native Speicies ONLY

Submitting for reimbursement you will need to complete an application and turn in receipts and pictures!
