• Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) provides financial and technical assistance to help address resource concerns with structural, vegetative, and management practices.

• Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) rewards producers for existing conservation and supports enhancements that take their stewardship to the next level.

Reach out to your local NRCS office or Conservation District to discuss which program best fits your operation.

NRCS Kentucky Now Accepting EQIP Applications:

The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) invites Kentucky farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners to apply for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) by September 25, 2026. EQIP offers financial and technical support to address resource concerns, improve land and operations, and promote conservation. Increased funding from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act ensures robust support for producers and communities. Applications after the deadline will be considered in the next
cycle. To apply or learn more, contact your local USDA Service Center at 502-845-2820 ext. 3.

The Henry County Conservation District will be accepting requests for cost share funding under the Kentucky Soil Erosion and Water Quality Cost Share Program. This program was created to assist agricultural operations in protecting the soil and water resources of Kentucky. This program allows funds to be administered through conservation districts with priority given to animal waste related problems. This program contains best management practices that include rotational grazing systems, alternative watering systems, heavy use feeding areas, sinkhole protection, grassed waterways, and vegetative critical areas, just to name a few examples. Please contact your conservation district for more practice details.
Funding for practices will be approved by the Kentucky Soil and Water Conservation Commission as funds are available. Approved applicants are reimbursed at a 75% cost share rate for installing practices up to the maximum amount allowed per applicant per year. Applications may be requested at any time during the year and are ranked annually.
