🎉🎊 WE WON... AGAIN!!! 🎊🎉

The Belt is coming back home! New City Library's teens came in FIRST PLACE for the second year in a row in the 2026 Regional Battle of the Books held this past weekend at SUNY Orange. 🥳

HUGE congratulations to our incredible 🥇FIRST PLACE🥇 defenders:
Matthew Wynn, Isaiah Jobin, Maahi Pakai, Anita Schiavo, Sophia Longo, and Lilli Olori, ALL of whom brought us to victory last year as well! 🎉

Battle of the Books is a trivia bowl-style competition for teens entering 6th through 12th grade. Ten teams from RCLS libraries compete in a double-elimination tournament, beating the buzzer to answer questions on eight prechosen titles from different categories (classic, contemporary, fantasy, graphic novel, historical fiction, humor, mystery, and nonfiction), which the battlers read and discussed over the summer.
