🗳️ Share your voice / Know your limits 🗳️

As we get closer to the election, it's crucial for the DLA Distribution team to understand the rules for political activity. Our responsibilities as public servants require us to remain apolitical in our official capacity. The rules differ for civilian and military personnel.

👥 For DLA Civilians (Hatch Act)
Most civilian employees are "less restricted," but must remember that the workplace and work hours are always neutral zones.

CAN (Off-duty & on personal devices):
✅ You may express your personal opinions on political candidates and issues.
✅ You may post, share, or retweet partisan political content.
✅ You may "Follow," "friend," or "like" a political party or candidate.

CAN'T:
❌ NEVER engage in political activity while on duty, teleworking, in a federal building, or using any government equipment (computers, phones, etc.). This includes using personal devices while on the clock, even on your lunch break.
❌ NEVER share, like, or link to any content that solicits political contributions.
❌ NEVER use your official title or position to endorse or oppose a candidate or party.

Note: Further Restricted employees (e.g., Senior Executive Service members) have stricter limitations and generally cannot post, share, or link to partisan content at any time. Know your status!

🪖 For Active Duty Military (DoDD 1344.10)
Military personnel must avoid any action that could imply DoW endorsement of a political campaign or cause.

CAN (Off-duty & out of uniform):
✅ You may express your personal opinions on candidates.
✅ You may "Follow," "friend," or "like" a political party or candidate.
✅ You may attend political events as a spectator.

CAN'T:
❌ NEVER post, share, or link to partisan political content, even when off-duty.
❌ NEVER campaign for a partisan candidate, serve in an official capacity for a partisan group, or speak at a partisan gathering.
❌ NEVER participate in political activities while in uniform.

Earlier this month, Army Brig. Gen. Kevin Cotman, commanding general, and Joe Faris, deputy commander, hosted a cake-cutting ceremony at our headquarters to celebrate 29 years of dedicated service. 🍰 They expressed their deep appreciation for the entire team's hard work and reinforced the importance of our complex global mission. 🌐

While we mark 29 years as a joint command, our legacy of excellence spans 65 years, always focused on one core promise: delivering the right item, to the right place, at the right time. 📦🚛

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, remember that cyber habits at home protect our warfighter mission everywhere.

Quick Household Do's & Don'ts:
✅ DO turn on automatic software updates for your phone, PC, and router.
✅ DO set a family safe-word to verify sudden phone/wire emergencies.
❌ DON’T share one-time login PINs or authentication codes with anyone.
❌ DON’T reuse passwords between personal email, social media, and banking.

Whether spotting a fake delivery text or testing a new digital tool, the golden rule remains: Think before you click.

🚀 Shoutout to the team at DLA Distribution Susquehanna!

At their recent Town Hall, Army Col. Christopher Urynowicz recognized outstanding team members for their dedication to the mission!

Pedro Gratacos was recognized for mastering warehouse processes and Brandon Hall received recognition for reconciling over 1,000 audit transactions! Thank you both for your incredible work! 🙌

Col. Urynowicz also mapped out the road ahead, emphasizing that safety is always our #1 priority. "Do it safe, do it right, do as many as you can, in that order. Speed will come over time," he said. "But if you're not doing it safely, and you're not doing it right., it doesn't really matter how fast you're going."

We are also pushing forward on modernization, sustaining our Warehouse Management System with targeted upgrades, and preparing to break ground on warehouse construction projects to build a stronger, more resilient organization.

⚓ 251 Years of Maritime Might! ⚓

Today, the U.S. Navy celebrates 251 years of delivering peace through strength from seabed to space.

At DLA Distribution, we are proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Navy customers, delivering world-class logistics and critical supplies to ensure our Sailors are always equipped and mission-ready! 📦🌎

To honor this milestone, DLA Distribution Susquehanna hosted a traditional cake-cutting ceremony at their recent town hall. The honors of cutting the cake were performed by Army Col. Christopher Urynowicz, commander, DLA Distribution, and Navy Lt. Geoff Wilds, inventory integrity operations officer at DLA Distribution Susquehanna.
