Zechariah Boodey Farmstead

Zechariah Boodey Farmstead The Farmstead will serve as a gathering spot. (Not speaking for Town.)

The Zechariah Boodey Farmstead Historic Preservation, a CEDS Priority Project, will enhance community vibrancy, promote the local economy, active recreation, and cultural experiences. The Vision
Reflections of the Past
The Zechariah Boodey Farmstead Project is a historic preservation initiative that began with a colonial cape-style house built in 1769. This House and Barn, once reassembled, are no

t just buildings but living testaments to our past. They are associated with the lives of persons and events that are not only significant in our community but also in our nation's past. They embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, and method of construction that represent a significant and distinguishable entity, a part of our shared heritage that we can all be proud of. Sustainability for the Future
With 2,980 square feet of meeting space on a three-acre parcel of land, the venue would provide a location to host a myriad of educational programming. These could include demonstrations, workshops, forums, discussions, round table sessions, and programs for cross-generational mentoring, networking, and knowledge-building. We envision historical and cultural programs and civic, social, or private events and activities, accommodating 130 individuals. This is not just a preservation project, but a vibrant hub for community engagement and learning, a beacon of hope for the future.

Hear - Ye, Hear - Ye,
The Zechariah Boodey Farmstead Collaborative is honored to share this newly released article in the “One Magazine” published by the National Association of Free Will Baptists, Inc., located in Antioch, TN. The bi-monthly magazine boosts circulation to over 50,000. We are grateful to Rev Ken Akers, Associate Editor, for making this all possible.
An article titled “The Zechariah Boodey Farmstead: A Community Preservation Effort” written by Christine C Evans, a Boodey and Randall Families Descendant traces the ongoing restoration efforts for the Zechariah Boodey Farmstead Project. The building, originally located near the Ridge Church in New Durham, NH, marks the first meeting place for the Free Will Baptists in New England. The covenants were signed in the East Room of the Boodey home, June 30, 1780, under the leadership of Elder Benjamin Randal(l).
The Boodey family home once served as a gathering place for brave pioneers who dared to lead in their beliefs during a pivotal time in our nation’s history. These buildings will serve as a gathering spot for future generations.
Also featured is a story about ongoing preservation efforts taking place for the Ridge Church.

We began efforts to identify the people in two of the pictures last fall, before learning about the ARS program. (How wild is that!)
Excited to share the results of our research.

How exciting is this! Connection to the Zechariah Boodey Farmstead, and the Free Will Baptist Centennial and the town of New Durham, NH! Love Antiques Road Show!

The Zechariah Boodey Farmstead, the East Parlor, was the location where Elder Benjamin Randal(l) and the first seven members signed the covenants, the birthplace of the Free Will Baptist Church in New England, on June 30, 1780. The Centennial celebration was held at the New Durham Church on the Ridge in 1880.
