From Chief Parks: Just before 6am this morning, 06/23/20, the New Ellenton Police Department responded to a call about a Drive-By Shooting. Through investigation the department has determined that there was not a drive-by shooting nor foul play. No charges have been filed and the case has been closed.

The New Ellenton Police Department needs your help in locating a missing teen. Madison Chelsea Ann Martin is missing from her Hillcrest Dr Home in New Ellenton. The Department has received several calls from New Ellenton residents in complaint to someone impersonating a NEPD Officer, and the 803-652-7770 number on caller id, asking to confirm your social security number and to provide banking information so that you don't go to jail. Please note that a police officer would NEVER need your banking information. Please continue to report this to the department. This is a SCAM and we are currently investigating.

The New Ellenton Police Department has received reports in reference to fraudulent representation of employees for the Silver Script PDP Company which is an Insurance Company that provides medication to the elderly. If you receive a phone call from someone advising that they work for this company and would like to come meet with you pertaining to your current account, verify that it is a legitimate employee by calling the company before allowing anyone into your home.

The New Ellenton Police Department prides itself on being an honest and just department. Therefore, we would like to advise that as of 2019 NEPD Officers will no longer be issuing warnings for those who are caught parking in the fire lane at the Bi-Lo shopping center. NEPD Officers will be enforcing state statue 56-5-2510 (improper stopping, standing, parking) which is a $100 fine.

On Sunday 6/10/18 Bi-Lo was the victim of an armed robbery.
WE have attached the picture of the male suspect. He is approximately 5’7/180 lbs. From the picture below you can see he is covered up very well so unaware of his nationality. If anyone recognizes this suspect by his build or have any information please contact the New Ellenton Police Department at (803) 652-7770. This is an ongoing investigation and we are currently following up on all leads. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if you know who he is. We will post more information as it becomes available.

From Chief Parks: the Ironman Race will be on September 25, 2016 and the route will consist of SRS 1, crossing Hwy. 278, and leading into the city limits of New Ellenton on Old Whiskey Rd. to Cherryvale Ave., and onto Woodland Dr. toward Hwy 278. Expect delays and traffic to be rerouted.

Update from the New Ellenton Police Department:
An update on the shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday, March 22nd on Richmond Circle. We have charged two individuals for gun violations; one an adult and the other a juvenile. The juvenile has been taken into custody. We are still investigating and further charges may be pending. Should you have any information please do not hesitate to contact Chief Parks with the New Ellenton Police Department or Crime Stoppers.

The City of New Ellenton Police Department responded to a shooting this evening on Richmond Circle. Sgt. Spires of the New Ellenton Police Department states that we are currently looking for 2 suspects and will release more information on the suspects as information and the investigation continues. The New Ellenton Police Department is looking for Phillip Dale Tucker, 48, who as reported missing Sunday morning.

The New Ellenton Police Department is now accepting applications for Reserve Officers. Must be 21 yrs. of age, no criminal history, have a good driving record, and have a high school diploma or GED. Applications can be obtained from the New Ellenton City Hall. If you have any questions about being a Reserve Officer, contact Chief Parks at 803-443-4831.

Homicide Investigation UPDATE: Both suspects in homicide have been taken into custody by New Ellenton Police and the investigation is continuing with assistance of Aiken Department of Public Safety and Aiken County Sheriff's Office. Suspects turned themselves in with the cooperation of them as well as their families. Mr. Green is at the Aiken County Detention Center and Mr. Jackson is in Columbia at the Department of Juvenile Justice. More info will be released as the investigation continues.
