Caring Households LLC. Adult Family Living/Foster Care Agency
Hablamos Español The staff you communicate with are the same staff you meet with monthly.

Our Adult Family Living/Foster Care Agency has a team of local professionals dedicated to providing support to caregivers living with clients throughout Western Connecticut.

Our focus is on providing consistent care support teams. Our program was started by two healthcare professionals who believe in quality care at home. We understand that at the heart of every Caring Household is the Caregiver

! Caring Households is credentialed through the state of Connecticut and our team has a combined 25 years of experience in the healthcare field. This program expands the possibilities of living at home longer in CT. It allows for those that are on the CT Home Care Program to stay at home for as long as their caregiver can safely manage their needs, while getting paid a tax exempt stipend! Our team has extensive experience in both administration and nursing. They have seen how the lack of knowledge at home can adversely affect the client and how that can be significantly improved through support and education. Their experience includes hands on nursing care in various settings that include critical care, emergency medicine, and trauma. Our program team includes an RN and Nursing Home Administrator both licensed in Connecticut. Through this shared experience they have seen seniors in critical situations that could have been avoided with proper agency support. This shared background will help keep clients home whenever possible to avoid traumatizing hospital visits and long term care placement.

Tips for measuring blood pressure the right way to ensure accurate results.

Today is World Hypertension Day.
High blood pressure - or hypertension - often shows no warning signs, yet it increases the risk for heart disease, stroke, blindness, dementia, and other complications.

A simple blood pressure check can be life-saving.

Getting your blood pressure measured the right way helps ensure accurate results.
Incorrect positions can lead to incorrect readings.

✔ Sit with your back supported
✔ Legs uncrossed and feet flat on the floor
✔ Arm supported with the cuff at heart level
✔ Use correct cuff size
✔ Rest for at least 5 minutes before the reading
✔ Do not talk during or between measurements
✔ Avoid exercise, tea/coffee, and smoking for at least 30 minutes before reading

Small steps can make a big difference in protecting your health.

Most people see dementia and think decline.

We see something else.

We see an environment that can either overwhelm the brain… or calm it.

Because dementia is not just memory loss.
It is a brain searching for safety.

When you soften the light, open the air, simplify food, and reduce noise… the body begins to settle.
When you slow down, sit close, and speak with warmth… connection returns.
When you anchor them in faith, identity, and touch… they feel safe again.

These are not small things.

This is the care.

At Dementia Care at Home™, we don’t chase behaviors.
We shape environments.

And when the environment changes… everything changes.

The home is not just where care happens.
It is the treatment.

When sorting through paperwork, watch for documents that reveal pieces of your identity, like your name and address, an old bill paired with an insurance ID, or a pay stub with your signature, because together they can be enough for fraud.

On their own, these may not seem risky. Together, they can give scammers enough information to impersonate you or access accounts. This April, community events across the country are offering helpful ways to take action, including free document shredding at many locations and resources to help protect your money and personal information.

Helping to protect yourself from fraud doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Making sure your information doesn’t fall into the wrong hands is an important first step.

We are proud to share about our first care giver support group series. RN Natasha & LMSW Neida have worked to create this safe space for emotional, educational, and practical support for our hard working caregivers. Our overall goal is to reduce the social isolation that often accompanies the demanding role of caregiving by fostering community. These support groups will be held quarterly via zoom & the first one will be held in May 2026. Stay tuned for more insights.
