Attention Residents: This Saturday, August 22nd the Pennsylvania Widow’s Sons(Shriners) motorcycle run will be passing through town at approximately Noon. There will be over one hundred motorcycles on this ride. To ensure the safety of the riders and traffic in town, the New Florence Volunteer Fire Company will be blocking traffic at the following locations.
Ligonier st and Furnace Lane, 13th and Ligonier, South bound Ligonier street before the subway until the ride passes.

The New Florence Volunteer Fire Company is going to be doing live burn training at the lawn waste disposal area(aka the dump) tonight. Please do not be alarmed if you see smoke coming from that area of 15th street.

Dumpsters are full, the gates are now closed. Please do not leave items outside the fence.

Dumpster update: The 4 dumpsters are quickly filling up. We have made a call to see if we can get one more, our vendor is going to let us know. If the gates are closed, please do not leave items in front of the gate.

Welcome to 2026 New Florence Community Day! Thanks to Somerset Trust, and New Florence Community Development for putting the day on. A few bits of information for the day, first, the west side sidewalk in the subway is closed. There are ground bees in the hillside and we don’t want anyone to get stung. Second, please respect peoples property when parking. Third, use caution while driving, there will be lots of people crossing streets. Four, 13th street will closed to traffic from the bank to the fire hall. Everyone stay safe and have a great day!
