Attention Residents: This Saturday, August 22nd the Pennsylvania Widow’s Sons(Shriners) motorcycle run will be passing through town at approximately Noon. There will be over one hundred motorcycles on this ride. To ensure the safety of the riders and traffic in town, the New Florence Volunteer Fire Company will be blocking traffic at the following locations.
Ligonier st and Furnace Lane, 13th and Ligonier, South bound Ligonier street before the subway until the ride passes.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
East Central Westmoreland County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
South Central Indiana County in west central Pennsylvania...

* Until 500 PM EDT.

* At 434 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Derry, or 7 miles northeast of Latrobe, moving
east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Blairsville, Derry, Ligonier, New Florence, Seward, Bolivar and
Loyalhanna Gorge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building
away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a
vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself
from flying debris.
