At 2:14 pm, Station 58 received an alert regarding a reported woods fire in the 5000 block of Steltz Rd. Engine 58-1, Engine 58-2, and Utility 58 responded promptly. Upon arrival, units encountered an area approximately 60’ x 30’ actively burning. As crews deployed attack lines and initiated operations, a live high-voltage line was discovered down in the woods, posing a significant threat to personnel on scene. Fortunately, the high-voltage line was spotted in the tall grass and brush, and all personnel were alerted, prompting an immediate halt to operations. Met-Ed was notified and arrived within 20 minutes to de-energize the line, allowing for safe continuation of fire suppression efforts. Glen Rock (Brush 59) was requested to the scene as a precautionary measure in case the fire spread to areas inaccessible to our engines. Thankfully, the fire was successfully contained to the edge of the field and wood line. Crews remained on scene for an hour and cleared.

2 vehicle MVA, Steltz Rd at Middletown Rd.

Engine 58-1 along with Medic 58, Micu 58-2 and Fire police arrive to this intersection to find 1 vehicle had T-boned another pushing them both into a utility pole.

Members worked quickly to check on occupants of the vehicle and verify that there was no entrapment. Drivers of both vehicles were treated at the scene for minor injuries and refused further treatment.

Members operated on scene for 45 mins before clearing.

05/03/2026

2:25am, Tower 58 was alerted to Fire Box 45-21. Crews arrived on scene of the 21000 block of Middletown Rd to find a 2 story home with fire showing.

Tower 58 crew placed ladders, preformed a search for occupants on all floors & operated on the roof opening up and knocking fire in the crawlspace. Crews worked together quickly and efficiently making a fast stop to this fire. All occupants made it out of the home and no injuries were reported.

Smoke alarms save lives.

2:30 AM Tower 58 with 4 members, Engine 58-2 with three members & Micu 58-2 responded to the 16000 block of W. Liberty Rd in Stewartstown.

Tower 58 members placed ground ladders to the exterior windows, did search and assisted 54 with interior operations.

Engine 58-2 members arrived and was given orders to assist operations on the second and third divisions with fire attack. Crews operated on scene for two hours before clearing. No major life-threatening injuries were reported.
