This is a long, but very well written post about the importance of volunteering for your community.
It also describes, very well, what we all are already paying for, in a way that makes sense.
Without volunteers, people who are willing to train, willing to get up in the middle of the night, willing to see and do the things we are called on to do, the cost of providing reliable services would increase substantially.
Please consider volunteering at your local fire/ems service. It will probably be one of the most rewarding things you'll do in your lifetime.

NGFD would like to express our sincere gratitude to Only in Wisconsin Giving for the recent grant awarded to us for the purchase of a new battery powered ventilation fan, battery powered chainsaw, and a number of other tools that will be added to our new engine, which will arrive next week!!! (More on that next week!)

We are excited to welcome New Glarus Fire Department to Custom Fire today as they complete their 80% inspection and finalize tool mounting locations on their new apparatus!

These milestone visits are one of our favorite parts of the build process. Walking through each compartment together helps ensure the finished truck is organized, efficient, and built around the firefighters who will rely on it every day.
