New Glarus Police Department

The New Glarus Police Department will participate in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign, which began on August 14th and runs through September 7th.

Everyone should plan ahead for safe travel:

• If you plan to celebrate, identify a sober designated driver, or find a safe alternative way home. Never allow someone who is impaired to get behind the wheel.

• Protect yourself and your passengers every time you travel. Buckle up, phone down. Watch your speed and eliminate distractions.

• If you suspect a driver is impaired, call 911. Provide as much detail as possible on the driver, vehicle, and location.

Yesterday, the staff at Lake Ridge Bank stopped by the New Glarus Police Department with some delicious sweet corn for our officers and staff. They also invited us over to the bank to enjoy root beer floats in celebration of National Root Beer Float Day. Thank you, Lake Ridge Bank!

Swearing-In Ceremony for Officer Alexander Seichter

The Village of New Glarus held a swearing-in ceremony today for the hiring of Alexander Seichter as a full-time police officer for the New Glarus Police Department. Village Clerk Barnes administered the Oath of Office during the ceremony. Chief Sturdevant did the honors of issuing him his department badge.

The New Glarus Police Department would like to thank everyone who attended our Bike Rodeo. It was a great day with an excellent turnout, and we truly appreciate the community support.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly. A special thank you goes out to all of the donors whose generosity helped make this event possible. We would also like to extend a big thank you to the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce for their assistance and partnership in helping make the Bike Rodeo a success.

Today, the New Glarus Police Department was honored to receive a visit from Green County Crime Stoppers, who generously dropped off a basket filled with snacks and goodies for our staff in recognition of National Police Week. We sincerely appreciate the thoughtful gesture and continued support of law enforcement throughout Green County.
