Warm Humor

Last fall the No-Name Quilters donates several blankets to the NHPD to give out as we see fit. During this donation I made a comment about none of the blankets have "Pigs" on them. Today the No-name Quilters stopped in and presented me with a stuffed pig for our K-9 Ozkar and a quilt they had made with pigs on one side and doughnuts on the other! It was all in good Humor! Thank you to the Ladies for thinking about us and delivering some smiles today!

Yesterday myself and K-9 Ozkar received our Certificate of Accomplishment for successfully completing the 510hr course of training for patrol dog/narcotics setection under the standards set forth by the Unites States Police Canine Association, Inc, and have achieved the desired rating of excellence therein.

This was an intense and hard training, but it shows the dedication the New Hampton PD and it's Officers have to ensure that we are well trained so we can continue to serve the residents of New Hampton as we strive to have the safest community possible.

Today, Tod Becker from Harvest Church and I presented two checks to New Hampton Park and Rec tottaling $707.00 toward the Park and Rec tuition fund. The money donated were the proceeds from the free will lunch at this year's Faith and Blue concert and picnic in the park. Thanks to all who supported us and this event!

The New Hampton Police Department will be participating in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau Program (sTEP) from August 15th to September 1st.

Officers of the New Hampton Police Department will be stepping up traffic enforcement during this time period, with special emphasis on impaired driving, seatbelt and speeding violations, along with texting while driving violations.
