Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen DESK serves people experiencing homelessness or living in poverty by providing food assistance and services that promote health, community, and equity.

DESK serves people experiencing homelessness or living in poverty by providing food assistance and services to promote health, community, and equity. We serve nightly dinner (5:00 pm) and offer weekly pantry services (Wed. 1:30-3:00 pm) at 311 Temple Street, and our Drop-in & Resource Center at 266 State Street is open Sunday-Friday, 1:30-4:30 pm. DESK benefits from the hard work and commitment of

Being part of the New Haven community means you get to know your neighbors really well. Liberty Bank Foundation shows that in action through our partnership, where they've created essential warming kits, donated cake mix to help celebrate our guests, and most recently a $5,000 grant for support for our programs for unhoused individuals and households struggling with food insecurity. We're grateful for the generous gift presented by Damaris Garcia, VP & Manager of the New Haven Branch. With over one in three of our neighbors facing food insecurity, kindness from our neighbors at Liberty Bank Foundation makes our New Haven community stronger.

Staying current on best practices is a team sport this World Cup season ⚽🤝

Yesterday, the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen's Client Engagement and DRC staff, Val, Evan, Roosevelt, and Claudette, joined dozens of partners for a street outreach training through the Greater New Haven Regional Alliance to End Homelessness.

As members of the interagency Outreach & Engagement Team, we work alongside providers across the region to meet unhoused neighbors where they are - on the street, in encampments, wherever people are. Community, after all, includes our colleagues. 💙
