The East Central Fire & EMS family extends our deepest thoughts and heartfelt sympathy to Parkview EMS Wabash, the family of Medic Mike Oberg, his friends, coworkers, and all who knew and served alongside him.
The loss of a first responder is felt far beyond one department. It is felt across the entire public safety family. Medics, firefighters, dispatchers, nurses, officers, and all who answer the call carry weight that many never see. Today, we stand with Parkview EMS Wabash in this time of loss, remembrance, and grief.
To Mike’s family and the Parkview EMS Wabash team: please know you are not alone. You are in our thoughts, and you have the support of your brothers and sisters across the emergency services community.
And to anyone who may be struggling: please reach out. There is strength in asking for help, and there are people ready to listen.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7. Veterans and service members can call 988, then press 1, or text 838255 for the Veterans Crisis Line. The Crisis Text Line is also available by texting HOME to 741741.
Rest easy, Mike. We’ll take it from here.
