LASHAE is a New Haven Promise Scholar AND the recipient of the James WC Pennington scholarship.

The James WC Pennington scholarship grants $20,000 each year towards her undergraduate education at Morgan State. We absolutely love this for you ❤️

Congratulations, Lashae ‼️

If you're not sure who Pennington is, that's ok. There's no time like the present to learn more about this remarkable, trail-blazing, resilient Black Connecticut resident and freedom-seeker who gained formal education at Yale despite institutional racism.

"The colored population of the United States have no destiny separate from that of the nation of which they form an integral part. Our destiny is bound up with that of America. Her ship is ours; her pilot ours; her storms ours; her calms are ours." --- JWC Pennington, 1850.
