There has been a lot of people talking about a bear being spotted in Union yesterday and Washington today.

Rest assured he is harmless as long as you “don’t poke the bear”. He’s just making his way to New Haven to celebrate us getting our new Police Department building.

🚨NHPD Officers Respond To Suspicious Activity Complaint🚨

Officers located a few suspects lurking near the playground after hours. A family of bandits took off running, but one stayed and cooperated. The masked individual was caught attempting to access a trash can with the look of “please hold while I generate a plausible excuse”. He said his name was "Rocket”.

The suspect was released with a warning after cooperating with officers and returning half a hot dog bun.

🚨🚓NEW HAVEN POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨🚓

The City of New Haven is excited to announce the purchase of the building located at 110 West Industrial Drive, formerly known as the previous ambulance building. This facility will become the future home of the New Haven Police Department.

As we share this exciting news, we want to address a question that we know will inevitably arise.

Before misinformation begins circulating, it is important for residents to understand that this purchase is NOT the result of a new tax, tax increase, or any additional request for taxpayer funding.

The funds used for this purchase were already previously collected funds available for Capital Improvement.

This acquisition provides an opportunity to establish a permanent home for the New Haven Police Department while making responsible use of funds that have already been collected. We believe this investment will help us better serve our community for years to come.

We look forward to sharing updates as plans for the transition move forward.

Once some renovations are made and we officially move into the building, we will be having an open house to show the community the brand new, New Haven Police Department. Stay tuned!

Thank you for your continued support of the New Haven Police Department and the City of New Haven.

Give it a share so people know we are moving!

Get ready, New Haven! The New Haven Police Department is hosting the 2nd annual Back 2 School Bash on Saturday, July 25th, and you’re invited! It’ll be held at the New Haven City Park.

Join us for a fun-filled day as we come together to support local students heading back to school. We’re collecting backpacks and school supplies to help ensure every student starts the year off right no matter what kind of financial bind the family may be in.

Bring a donation and you’ll be entered into a raffle for a chance to win some awesome prizes! So far we have two (2) $100 Bass Pro gift cards and two (2) $100 Target gift cards! So mom’s, win a Bass Pro gift card and send your husband off to the woods…then go to Target anyway! We are taking other raffle items if anyone has a business that would like to donate.

The Monkey Bus will also be there, plus much more!

If you or your business would like to help be a sponsor in this event or donate items for raffle prizes, please contact Chief Neace or Major Johnmeyer!

Now yes, we realize school is just ending, but we want you to start planning on being there now!

Let’s make a difference while having a blast. Mark your calendars and spread the word! All school supplies items will go to help students in the New Haven School District and the Franklin County R-II School first. Anything extra that we have will go to help other students in other districts that are in need.

Today Jim McNeive, the Commander of the American Legion Post 218, Washington, Mo., presented a check for $2000 to go towards the purchase of a new evidence camera.

Parker Hannifin donated the money and they and the American Legion worked together to find a Department in need of equipment that is needed to help serve the community and the department.

With this donation, the New Haven Police Department will have a better, newer, and more reliable camera to document crime scenes.

Thank you both for your generous donation!
