🚨 SCAM ALERT – NEW HAVEN 🚨

We’re having more reports of a scam that’s starting back up here in New Haven.

Scammers are calling people and claiming to be from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, telling them they missed jury duty and now have a warrant for their arrest. They then demand payment, often in Bitcoin, to make the warrant “go away.”

PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

Neither the New Haven Police Department, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, nor any other legitimate law enforcement agency will call you and demand payment for a warrant or ask you to pay using Bitcoin, Apple gift cards, Visa gift cards, or any other form of payment over the phone.

And remember, we don’t call you about warrants, we come say hi in person.

If you receive one of these calls, do not send money or provide personal or financial information. Hang up and contact the agency directly using a verified phone number if you have concerns.

Stay safe, New Haven!

The New Haven Police Department was honored to attend the home dedication for Officer Adam Sullentrup, who was critically injured in the line of duty in 2023. Through the generosity of the Gary Sinise Foundation, Officer Sullentrup and his family received a specially adapted smart home designed to provide comfort, accessibility, and independence. This extraordinary gift reflects the Foundation’s steadfast commitment to honoring and supporting our nation’s heroes and their families.

The Department and Sullentrup family extend its deepest gratitude to the Gary Sinise Foundation for making this possible as well as all the businesses that took part in the build and furnishing. We are proud to stand with our community in recognizing Officer Sullentrup’s service and sacrifice, and we offer our sincere congratulations to him and his family as they begin this new chapter in their new home.

Attached is just a few pictures of today’s event. Thank you to all the first responders and supporters that came out to this event.
