Several students have come to us expressing concern about YDS's policy changes that will require all supervised ministry internship sites to financially contribute to their interns's stipends beginning next year.This policy is being framed as necessary to the school's efforts to provide a 100% tuition-free education to all students by 2022.

We are drafting a response to Dean Sterling, and also soliciting student feedback on the policy change, which we plan to present to the Dean with our response. If you are interested in providing feedback, please do so below:

Happy Fall Everyone,

The YDSG Executive Board thought that this would be a great time to show gratitude to one another in our community. Too often we divest all our attention towards our academics, our jobs, and other matters, that we forget to show appreciation for those around us who support us in everyday matters.

'Gratitude Grams' are a small token of appreciation for your fellow peers/staff/faculty members. At the end of this email, there will be a link to the google form to order your gratitude gram. The ordering period will be open from today until next Wednesday, the 17th of October and they will be available for pickup the week following Fall Break.

The google form is available for one order at a time but you are able to fill out as many orders as you want. You will just have to complete the form, close the tab, and reopen a different tab.

Included in the ordering form is the option for adding an autumnal gift bag for $2.00 (this is simply to cover the costs of the gift bag & production). The cost will be payable to the YDSG Treasurer, JaQuan Beachem, via Venmo. The handle to his venmo is in the google form.

Hello Everyone,

To avoid confusion in the morning:
We wanted to let you know that some of the posters around the north hallway (specifically the hallway adjacent to the bookstore) have been taken down in consideration for expressed concerns over the omnipresence of posters on campus. We feel that the message of the posters and the stance of the students has been set. To keep them all up would create a more triggering atmosphere than a helpful one.

The posters on the YDSG board and the ones on the south wing will remain up throughout the convocation period.

We do not want this to seem as if we are done speaking out about the silencing of survivors and experiences of the hurt. We will keep moving forward with new visual expressions of solidarity. We welcome ideas from you all so please feel free to contact anyone on the YDSG e-board (Rolando Rodriguez, Graham Bridgeman, Stephanie Addenbrooke, and JaQuan Beachem)

Hey everyone!

In light of the events that have have been transpiring, we have moved coffee hour to the common room so more people are able to talk with us.

The YDSG Executive board will be in the second floor common room from 9-10am, to buy you coffee and talk with you.

There will also be donut holes from Dunkin’ Donuts, please come out and grab some!

This weekend we became aware that a YDS student was responsible for tearing down signs posted on old campus that expressed support for Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, Julie Swetnick, Anita Hill, Fernanda Lopez Aguilar, and all survivors.

This overt disregard for the humanity and vulnerability of survivors will not be tolerated or supported. As members of the YDS community, we reject this act of violent misogyny. We stand with all survivors.
