Heads up, Prospect Hill: a safety upgrade is coming starting Monday, July 27th!

We’re updating the signal timing so pedestrians cross concurrently with parallel traffic, backed by a dedicated head-start WALK signal before cars get a green light. Turning vehicles must yield! The intersection also features brand-new accessible pushbuttons (APP) with sound and vibration cues for vision-impaired neighbors. Remember to always cross within marked crosswalks.

School might be wrapping up for summer, but school bus safety never takes a vacation!

Camps and summer programs mean our buses stay on the road. When you see those flashing red lights and the stop-arm extended, you MUST stop, no exceptions.

Following the conversion of Chapel Street between College and York Streets to two-way traffic, the New Haven Police Department will be increasing enforcement on the corridor.

Drivers should plan accordingly, as there will be increased ticketing for vehicles parked illegally along the stretch. These measures are part of a broader commitment to ensuring our new traffic patterns remain safe and accessible for all road users.
